You will perform routine, complex or specialized bacteriological, hematological, chemical, immunological, serological and immunoassay procedures on body fluids.

You will demonstrate accuracy for all testing performed.
You will perform related quality control and required proficiency testing according to policy and procedure.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
Bachelor Degree in a Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science (MT/CLS) from an accredited institution.
MT (ASCP) or equivalent required.
Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.

Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the MedicalTechnologist performs routine, complex or specialized bacteriological, hematological, chemical, immunological, serological and immunoassay procedures on body fluids.

Requires no supervision for processing specimens, performing testing, or reporting results. No review of patient results is required prior to reporting.

Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test result.
Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
Review and release test results.
Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines.

Assists in performing venipuncture or capillary puncture on various age groups from newborn to geriatrics when needed.
Actively participates in the training and orientation of new employees.

Job Summary and Qualifications
Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the Medical Lab Technician performs routine, complex or specialized bacteriological, hematological, chemical, immunological, serological and immunoassay procedures on body fluids. Requires no supervision for processing specimens, performing testing, or reporting results. No review of patient results is required prior to reporting. Maintains required competencies in all departments assigned. Demonstrates accuracy for all testing performed.

Job Summary and Qualifications
The Medical Laboratory Technologist II is responsible for performing complex medical laboratory tests for diagnosis and treatment of disease, analyzing and assuming accountability for accurate test results, maintenance of complicated instruments, and monitoring quality control and quality assurance programs.
What you will do in this role:
Performs specimen processing and testing independently to include moderate and high complexity testing.
Analyzes test results - demonstrates knowledge of pathological processes with correlation of disease states and test results.
Understands, performs, and practices preventive maintenance; troubleshoots and takes corrective action. Demonstrates pro-active problem solving skills to include identifying a problem and taking appropriate action; knows when to seek guidance to complete troubleshooting protocol.
Understands, performs, and practices quality control to include running controls, evaluating data, documentation of data, and taking corrective action as required. Communicates any relevant QC information to supervisor/lead tech.
Reviews, writes or modifies departmental procedures or policies.
Meets timeliness for gaining skills. Satisfactorily completes competency checklist for this position. Assumes responsibility for own development to include cross-training in other functions or positions to ensure satisfactory operation of the department or to permit flexible staffing assignments.
What qualifications you will need:
High school diploma (or equivalent), with 6 years of clinical lab experience OR
B. Associates Degree with minimum 2 years experience in Clinical Lab setting. -OR
C. Bachelor's Degree required with clinical lab experience preferred.
Minimum License and Certificates Required: One of the following certifications is required: MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), CLT(NCA), MLT(ASCP), or MLT(AMT) Certification is waived for those with 5 years of lab experience

Anticipates and evaluates need for new methods, instrumentation, and technology in terms of customer need, cost benefit and revenue generation, and informs management about findings.
Assures compliance with accrediting agencies. Acts as a resource to customers both within the department and outside the department.
Manages assigned projects to include developing a plan, coordinating necessary resources, setting project timelines, keeping Manager informed of progress, and completing project within established time limits.
Understands, performs, and practices quality control management to include running controls, evaluating data, documentation of data, and taking corrective action as required. Communicates any relevant QC information to Supervisor or Manager.

Job Description: Provides direct patient care to adult patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the procedural/interventional environment.
