Position Overview
The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of imaging procedures, including CT and X-Rays, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
Essential Job Functions
* Provide technical assistance and supportive patient care to assist the physicians, nurses and other technical and administrative staff in meeting the needs of individual patients throughout the facility.
* Operate and maintain all imaging department equipment including but not limited to X-Ray, CT, CR reader, and PACS
* Perform all imaging exams in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws and ensure the physician on duty is notified of the results
* Perform basic clinical procedures under the direction of the physician and/or nurse on duty
* Maintain all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats
* Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations
* Maintain an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables to perform quality testing
* Perform all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment
* Perform Quality Control as established by this laboratory
* Perform Proficiency Testing and/or Split Sample analysis periodically as established by this facility
* Retain records of all analytic activities performed for a minimum of two years
* Perform all Quality Assessment activities assigned to this position and document these activities for periodic review by the Laboratory Supervisor and/or the Laboratory Director
Other Job Functions
* Perform duties as ER Technician as needed
* Maintain an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables to perform quality testing
* Perform all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment
* Travel to all facility locations as required
* Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
* Perform additional duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
* High School diploma or GED, required
* Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiology Technology, required
* Associate's Degree in Radiology, preferred
* Certified as a medical radiologic technologist as required by the state in which practicing, required
* Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography required
* Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in computed tomography, preferred
* CT certification required within 12 months of hire (Pennsylvania market)
* Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association, required
* 2+ years radiologic/imaging experience, preferred
* 1+ years of CT experience, preferred
* 1+ years of emergency room experience, preferred
* Proficiency with most X-ray/CT equipment, manufacturer's hardware/software and PACS
* Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication

Experience and Education
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (CT) required. Licensed by Texas Medical Board (TMB) as a Medical Radiologic Technologist. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) by first day of employment is required. Associates degree in Radiologic Sciences or Graduate from AMA approved school; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Job Duties
Review physician orders for accuracy, diagnosis, and applicability to selected CT protocol. Screen patients for contrast allergies, contraindications, and appropriateness that would prohibit or modify the CT exam. Communicate with Radiologists to discuss stat/urgent findings. If modification of a CT protocol is necessary consult with radiologist to determine appropriate CT exam, and document changes as appropriate in electronic health record. Ensure other resources such as nursing, anesthesia, and scheduling are in order.
Interviews patient (two patient identifier), conducts patient screening and obtains medical history pertaining to procedure's clinical criteria. Explains procedure and instructs patient on necessary requirements needed to provide diagnostic images. Answers questions, screening, and administration for oral and IV contrast for relevant exams. Administers intravenous injections of contrast material as appropriate, while observing patients for adverse reactions. Assists the physician as needed in performing procedures. Ensures that images and information are properly documented with patient identification data and appropriate labeling. Utilizes technical knowledge and skills to perform procedures accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with age specific criteria. Completes exam charges and image documentation in a timely manner. Performs CT exams ensuring that patient meets radiation safety requirements to ALARA principles . Assist patient in dressing for exam and attends to patient's physical well-being while transporting to and from exam room and positioning for exam. Instructs/communicates with patient and/or patient's family (as appropriate) regarding the tests to be performed and evaluates the patient's ability to tolerate.
Quality Control ~ Performs QC testing and reports problems with CT system and workstations to the service engineer/biomed, with additional correspondence sent to the physicist and imaging leadership.
Maintains various QA compliances including ACR requirements (ex. daily, monthly, yearly QC) and archives. Participates in accreditation imaging requirements. Must be able to lift 40-50lbs.
Responds to inquiries/calls/emails in a timely and professional manner. Utilizes the organizational culture behaviors to include PACT and AIDET. Actively participates in codes and rapid responses. Communicates shift hand off regarding workflow issues with equipment or pending exams with oncoming staff. Engages in equitable distribution of departmental workloads.
Actively participates in providing orientation and training for new hires and students ensuring that procedures are performed according to set standards.
Functions in the department as a part of an interdisciplinary team, and collaborates in the care and service delivery process of patient care through effective communication with other service lines.
Prioritizes exams with scheduling exams to ensure smooth workflow, minimize wait times and address stat requests.
Adheres to hospital policies, procedures, competencies, regulatory compliance, infection control, hospital education, new yearly metrics/department goals, patient satisfaction, and fiscally responsible with regards to equipment, supplies scheduling, overtime, etc.
Maintains patient confidentiality (HIPAA) and ensures that all processes and procedures are maintained to secure and protect all workstations in all work areas.

JOB SUMMARY
The CT Technologist, under general supervision of a Radiologist, performs computed tomography (CT) procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a physician or other licensed provider for the diagnosis of disease and injury in accordance with established protocols.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Performs high quality CT procedures, according to exam protocol, in a timely manner. Maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures.
Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to: identify patient service requirements, ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others. Instructs and communicates with patients and their family regarding the test to be performed and assesses patient's ability to tolerate exam.
Prepares patient and area for procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols and techniques. Uses proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing invasive multimodality procedures and maintains hand hygiene requirements.
Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. Reports issues to management or appropriate department. Assists in maintaining supplies inventory.
Ensures people are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures.
Obtains, verifies and maintains all relevant documentation such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status and shielding precautions taken, consent forms, policies and procedures, etc.

The X-ray Technologist performs duties under the direction of the Radiologist, Technical Director, and Chief Technologist. May be required to cover or rotate to any facility or changing shift, must be available for OT if needed due to patient needs/demands.

· Must be a Registered Technologist in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or its equivalent and the State of Nevada. · A.R.R.T. and State licensure/ registry are required.

· Thorough knowledge of PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) and workflow processes to provide maximum efficiency.
· Prepare proper contrast media for the various radiographic procedures.

· Ability to access other Imaging Technologists skills and abilities.
· Recognize and correct mistakes in positioning and technique.

Position Overview
The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of imaging procedures, including CT and X-Rays, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
Essential Job Functions
* Provide technical assistance and supportive patient care to assist the physicians, nurses and other technical and administrative staff in meeting the needs of individual patients throughout the facility.
* Operate and maintain all imaging department equipment including but not limited to X-Ray, CT, CR reader, and PACS
* Perform all imaging exams in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations, and laws and ensure the physician on duty is notified of the results
* Perform basic clinical procedures under the direction of the physician and/or nurse on duty
* Maintain all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats
* Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations
* Maintain an adequate supply of all reagents and consumables to perform quality testing
* Perform all routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function checks following established protocol for all imaging equipment
* Perform Quality Control as established by this laboratory
* Perform Proficiency Testing and/or Split Sample analysis periodically as established by this facility
* Retain records of all analytic activities performed for a minimum of two years
* Perform all Quality Assessment activities assigned to this position and document these activities for periodic review by the Laboratory Supervisor and/or the Laboratory Director
