Shift: All Shifts, Holiday and Weekend Rotations Required Location: All Locations Under general supervision, evaluates and implements the care of adult and geriatric patients undergoing mammography and breast related invasive procedures. Assesses assigned patients' needs by reviewing the radiology request, the patient's medical history, admitting diagnosis, and physician's orders. Assesses the patient's physical needs, evaluates diagnostic data, and interviews the patient and family. Prioritizes imaging needs for an assigned group of patients. Collaborates with other members of the health team to determine patient care priorities. Assists in identifying complex patient problems related to symptoms, behavioral changes, and abnormal diagnostic data. Evaluates patient's response of procedural care delivery. Practices radiation protection techniques. Takes precautions to minimize patient and staff exposure to x-radiation. Notifies supervisor of safety issues as they occur. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and registered with the ARRT. They must have a minimum of two (2) years' experience with one (1) year in Mammography. Advanced certification in Mammography is required. About the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center The hired neuropsychologist will join one of the strongest pediatric hematology/oncology programs in the country. * Our oncology program cares for more than 500 new cancer cases per year. We represent the pediatric arm of Emory's NCI-designated Winship Cancer Center. * We have the largest pediatric hematology program in the country (including 2000 active patients with sickle cell disease) and one of the four largest pediatric oncology programs in the country. * Our blood and marrow transplantation program performs an average of 80 transplants annually. * Children's Healthcare of Atlanta-the only tertiary pediatric center in the dynamic metropolitan Atlanta area and the largest in the state-serves a population of nearly 6 million people, providing a strong basis for clinical programs in rare disorders. The collection consists of 108 linear feet of photograph prints, negatives, slides, and contact sheets of images taken by Jim Alexander from circa 1960-2022, including images of prominent African American politicians, athletes, activists, authors, and artists. This is an entry-level position, but it does require some prior experience arranging and describing archival collections, such as through a graduate internship, practicum, or part-time role. Observes organizational and universal standards for infection control in carrying out daily responsibilities, including proper cleaning and sterilization of surfaces, equipment and instruments. Conducts in-service programs, provides other staff with training and serves as a clinical instructor to students. Responds to requests for professional information or advice and refers complex matters to the appropriate staff. Attends team conferences when appropriate; works cooperatively with other team members to maintain consistency in the provision of high quality, result oriented service. Performs other related duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a Physical Therapy Assistant School accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Georgia. BLS certification required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Medium-Heavy) 36-75 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 20-35 lbs, 34-66% of the workday; (frequently); 10-20 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 75 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking; Occasional sitting; Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing); Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
