Emory University is seeking an experienced Informatics Analyst to advance the university's research mission through the continued expansion of its OpenSpecimen service. This position plays a key role in supporting research laboratories and biorepository cores in managing, tracking, and integrating critical biospecimen data. The Informatics Analyst will be part of the Laboratory Solutions team, which oversees the implementation and configuration of biospecimen management and banking solutions within Emory's enterprise sample tracking platform. This work supports a diverse range of clinical and research laboratories across Emory University, Emory Healthcare, and key collaborative partners. **********************************************************************
This position requires experience in designing and implementing complex, enterprise-level relational database systems, along with a strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) principles and practices. Responsibilities include gathering and refining business and technical requirements, configuring and testing system components, developing and delivering user training, and providing post-implementation support. A solid understanding of healthcare data standards, as well as medical information privacy and security regulations, is essential.The Informatics Analyst will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team, adhering to established implementation frameworks and contributing to the continuous improvement, support, and optimization of Emory's enterprise informatics applications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Implementation of the Emory Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
+ Interact with the clients/stakeholders to understand and elaborate system requirements and work with them to document requirements and design process
+ Perform configuration of application based on requirements including creation of new custom database forms, fields, and queries
+ Perform database updates using SQL scripts and JSON files
+ Participate in the development and extension of the overall Emory LIMS application within the Emory enterprise architecture.
+ Work with senior members of the Laboratory Solutions Team to perform system implementation and support activities.
+ Interact with users to provide training, consultation, and on-going operational support.

+ Ensure software development standards, enterprise patterns and components and Quality Assurance procedures are utilized in software development projects.
+ Work as a positive team member of projects that may consist of Business Analysts, Project Managers, Data Managers, Database Administrators, and customer laboratory staff to successfully implement and support the LIMS application for a wide variety of laboratories.
+ Works as a positive team member of a project that may consist of Business Analysts, Project Managers, Information Architects, DataAnalysts, and/or Database Administrators to deliver quality applications and components within scope, on time, and within budget.
+ Participates in the evaluation of emerging technologies, developing proof-of-concepts, and promoting the usage of these emerging technologies. Contributes to technical teams, and trains end-users.
+ Creates and maintains data dictionaries and meta data, and supports efforts to ensure that data standards are developed and maintained.
+ Serves as an organizational consultant on matters relating to databases by providing expertise to assist users in meeting their needs.
+ Develops reports and ensures their accuracy.
+ Supports business and system re-engineering and architecture development to define future data needs.
+ Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ A bachelor's degree and two years of related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
+ Experience with SQL in a major RDBMA, and experience working with relational databases.
+ Technical certification preferred.

Responsibilities
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst for Financial Systems Integration is responsible for end-user deployment of data using a variety of datasets and tools including Northside Hospital's financial data warehouse, SQL / Aginity, SQL Server Reporting Services, Excel and Spotfire. This position will build the business intelligence layer to deliver reporting and analytical tools to analysts and executive management. The analyst has expert knowledge of the capabilities of and data within the data warehouse to effectively drive business decisions by providing quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights and trends to decision makers. Analyst will design and develop business intelligence reporting tools and train end-users and other business intelligence analysts.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collects, aggregates and analyzes data from multiple internal and external sources to drive insights into business performance, working with end-user analysts and management.
Produces actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identifies areas of improvement into current operations and displays root case analysis of problems.
Uses analytics and metrics to improve processes, identify risks and provides data-driven forecasts. Communicates findings and insight to stakeholders and provides business strategy recommendations for optimizing business performance.
Trains end-users on utilization of reporting and analytical tools. Also trains other Business Intelligence Analysts on best practices.
Assists with data integrity and data balancing of data warehouse and reporting/business intelligence environment. Provides guidance and oversight of data dictionary and reference tables to ensure they are current to support organizational reporting needs.
Creates and provides documentation to support analytics, information reporting and overall system operations.
Identifies and assists in the evaluation of new technology for the Finance division. Identifies opportunities and recommendations for process improvement within the Finance Division.
Assists with special systems and analytics projects for the Finance Division.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
B.S. degree in Business or Health Administration, Computer Science, Finance.
Ability to quickly learn and synthesize new technologies with existing technologies, self-disciplined and works under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.
Proficient in advanced techniques of Standard Query Language (SQL), MS Excel and MS Access.
Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems with translating technical skills into the conceptualized end-product.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Minimum 6-9 years of experience delivering end-user reporting/analytics.
PREFERRED:
3+ years of experience in a healthcare environment.
2+ years of clinical/financial analytics experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge or training of SQL Server Reporting Services, TIBCO Spotfire or other reporting and Business Intelligence software.
Demonstrated knowledge of industry leading tools for data visualization, predictive and prescriptive analytics (such as SPSS) and data mining required to thrive in an evolving market.

Job Responsibilities
* Responsible for reviewing assigned study protocols and associated budgets.

The Data Integrity Specialist II maintains the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the electronic master patient index (EMPI) and of the electronic health record (EPIC). Provides oversight and expertise to all sites and affiliates as it relates to the EMPI and data integrity of the electronic medical record (EPIC). * This includes providing direction to multiple stakeholders about what steps to take with medical record documentation to ensure patient safety, reviewing and confirming corrections made by clinical users, and ensuring that down-stream systems receive the necessary updates.
* Monitors and replies to all communication sent to Chart Correction team in-basket and Service Now queue.
* Communicates with customers throughout the chart correction process, utilizing e-mail, phone calls, in-basket messaging, and Service Now updates.
* Document outcomes of the chart correction process according to organizational policies.
* Maintains in-depth understanding of data flow between the EHR, various repositories (EMPI, Harmony, all legacy EMRs, etc.) and ancillary systems.
* Attain a general understanding of site level information systems both active and historical (legacy).
* Assists clinical users in making chart corrections as needed.
* Assists in training new Chart Correction employees and team members regarding hospital and department policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
* High school diploma or equivalency required.
* Additional post-secondary course work preferred.
* Registered Health Information Administrator or Technician (RHIA, RHIT) designation preferred.
* Epic Patient Identity Certification preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum of five (5) years experience related to health information, release of information, patient registration or patient billing required.
* Minimum (3) years of experience working within an electronic health record required.
* Prior electronic chart correction, patient demographic updates, patient mergers and customer service experience preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
* Epic Patient Identity Certification preferred JUDGEMENT: Demonstrated ability to function in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules and priorities.

+ Provides assistance to faculty and staff in preparing standard grant applications and routine proposals for funding agencies and sponsors.

+ Prepares Notice of Award Acceptance documents; ensures accuracy of administrative and financial award information.
+ Responds to agency, faculty or staff requests for additional information and/or clarification.
+ Processes standard agreements and subcontracts with sponsors.
+ Reviews basic contract terms/conditions and seeks guidance from supervisors or General Counsel, as needed and applicable.
+ Coordinates getting required approvals or certifications from the appropriate organizational committees such as the Institutional Review Board and the Institutional Animal Use and Care Committee; ensures funding agencies receive required approval letters.
+ Ensures all compliance and regulatory requirements have been met as required by law, institutional or agency policies.
+ Maintains required records.
+ Handles non-financial post-award activities such as obtaining final statements/reports from faculty and forwarding them to the appropriate agency, and assisting in transfer of awards for relocating researchers.
+ Assists in organizing and conducting educational seminars/workshops for faculty and staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor's degree in business management, applied science or a related field and 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
+ Strong communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills.
+ Ability to work flexible hours.
