Eligible for Additional 15.00 Weekend Shift Differiental / Emory Decatur Under general supervision, evaluates and implements the care of adult and geriatric patients undergoing mammography and breast related invasive procedures. Assesses assigned patients needs by reviewing the radiology request, the patient's medical history, admitting diagnosis, and physician's orders. Assesses the patient's physical needs, evaluates diagnostic data, and interviews the patient and family. Prioritizes imaging needs for an assigned group of patients. Collaborates with other members of the health team to determine patient care priorities. Assists in identifying complex patient problems related to symptoms, behavioral changes, and abnormal diagnostic data. Evaluates patient's response of procedural care delivery. Practices radiation protection techniques. Takes precautions to minimize patient and staff exposure to x-radiation. Notifies supervisor of safety issues as they occur. Assures continuity and quality of care through effective decision-making and continuous patient assessment. Anticipates potential patient crisis through continual evaluation of patient care. Assists with appropriate care interventions for identified patient problems. Utilized standards of care and/or collaborative clinical pathways to guide the radiologic procedure. Involves the patient and or significant others in the radiologic process. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and registered with the ARRT. They must have a minimum of two (2) years experience with one (1) year in Mammography. Advanced certification in Mammography is required. The incumbent is expected to participate in outreach activities to promote the collection through social media, contributions to Rose Library publications, and other collection activation efforts and activities. Jim Alexander is an American documentary photographer who has spent over 50 years documenting Black culture and civil and human rights movements across the United States. In 1977, he became photographer in residence at the AtlantaNeighborhood Arts Center and was photographer in residence at Clark College from 1984-1990. The collection consists of 108 linear feet of photograph prints, negatives, slides, and contact sheets of images taken by Jim Alexander from circa 1960-2022, including images of prominent African American politicians, athletes, activists, authors, and artists. This is an entry-level position, but it does require some prior experience arranging and describing archival collections, such as through a graduate internship, practicum, or part-time role. The successful candidate will have knowledge of African American history, art, or visual culture, demonstrated through (for example) an undergraduate minor or major in African American studies, art history, or related field, or hands-on experience with African American archival collections. **_This position is funded by a grant from the Getty Foundation._** **Flexible Workplace** This position offers some possibility for flexible work arrangements; however, the expectation is that the successful candidate will work primarily on-site. **Essential Responsibilities & Duties** + Arrangement and Description of the Jim Alexander photograph collection, in consultation with the Curator of African American Collections and the Head of Archives Processing. The program stresses providing caregivers with an initial understanding of ASD and developing empirically supported treatment recommendations. The psychologist will join a multidisciplinary intervention and assessment team that includes professionals from psychology, speech/language pathology, medicine, and social work.
