At Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine, students receive a
diverse education as well as access to internships at respected medical
facilities. Located in Santa Monica, California, Emperor's College offers master's
and doctoral degrees in Oriental Medicine. Academics include such medical
and healing techniques as: * Acupuncture * Chinese herbal medicine * Western medicine Students also get a strong foundation in the sciences, including biology,
chemistry, anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology. An additional component of Emperor's College is the elective option, in
which students are encouraged to take additional elective courses in
specialized areas of Oriental Medicine. Emperor's College offers such
electives as Japanese acupuncture, Shiatsu, meditation and Tai Chi. In the final phase of their program, students undertake a clinical
internship at such respected medical facilities as UCLA's Arthur Ashe
Student Health and Wellness Center. Emperor's College offers partial tuition scholarships to alumni and to
doctoral students who received their master's degree from Emperor's
College. Admissions require at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units of college
course work, with a GPA of at least 2.5. Students should have completed
courses in various disciplines, including the humanities, biological
sciences, social sciences and math. Applicants who have not taken such
courses may meet some of these requirements by taking the CLEP or ACT
exam.
