Meet Facundo Manriquez: RecruitLoop Recruiter In Santiago, Chile

It’s been a few weeks since we last put one of our recruiters in the spotlight. But last week I caught up with our first recruiter from South America – Facundo Manriquez. Actually his parents named him Facundo Sebastian Manriquez Salazar. But to us he’s just Facundo.

Facundo is the epitome of a RecruitLoop recruiter.

Because although he and his family are living happily in Santiago, Chile, for the last 7 years, Facundo has been recruiting for clients in New York, Houston, L.A, Seattle and Silicon Valley including Adobe, CBS, Comcast and Pandora.

He’s a true ‘remote recruiter’ … a “Recruiter Sans Frontiers” so to speak!

Enjoy getting to know a bit more about Facundo and his extensive experience recruiting for highly technical and extremely specific roles as well as run-of-the-mill support and administrator roles across a wide array of industries and technologies.

How long have you been a part of the RecruitLoop community?

I became a verified recruiter in July 2014.

What were you doing before you met us?

I founded and operated a boutique recruiting firm called Avispa along with an associate in Redwood City for about 5 years.

What is the best part, for you, of being a ‘Looper‘?

For me, the best part is the amount of support RecruitLoop provides to all of us. They pave the way for recruiters to be successful and thus, make money!

What RecruitLoop feature do you think is the most awesome?

Definitely the billing platform. It is so user-friendly and uncluttered, yet extremely effective.

What has been your funniest RecruitLoop moment?

Well, it has been less than a year so far, but the other day Paul ‘suggested’ that I change my profile avatar. It was me with a bunch of kids making funny faces at the summer camp I work at every year. I love kids … and it was an amusing photo. But he was probably right … clients looking to trust an experienced recruiter may have thought otherwise! Thanks Paul!

Why do you believe the RecruitLoop model works so well?

For me it is like “the missing link.” There are curated job boards, curated resumé portals but the curated recruiter marketplace was missing to tie it all together; and this is definitely it.

What are your passions and interests outside work?

I have three daughters and enjoy exposing them to culture and the arts, while at the same time enjoying them myself ;). I ride my bike about 100 miles a week and train in the local velodromes. I am also an amateur photographer.

What is something other Loopers may not know about you?

My 7+ years experience recruiting for clients in Silicon Valley, New York, Houston and Seattle has all been performed from my home office in Santiago, Chile! I moved here 14 years ago.

What 5 words would your clients use to describe you?

Pleasant, thoughtful, creative, straight-forward, and honest.

If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?

I would un-invent cars (not all transportation of course, but all cars.).

Mona Jackson

If you could have dinner with five famous people (alive or dead) who would they be and why?

Jesus, Michael Jackson, Leonardo Da Vinci, Iggy Azalea (Kudos Australia!), and Bob Marley would make for a really interesting gathering for obvious reasons.
