Meet Lauren Hodgson: RecruitLoop Recruiter In Phoenix, Arizona

As a recruiter there were many occasions where a candidate I placed in a role eventually became a client.

There were also quite a few instances where I had such a strong relationship with a client that when the time came for them to look for a new opportunity, they confidentially asked me to help them out. Yes it’s a great feeling when a client becomes a candidate.

Where exactly am I going with this line of thinking?

Today’s Recruiter Spotlight is actually our very first example of where a RecruitLoop client has in fact become a RecruitLoop recruiter. Not a candidate … but a recruiter!

Would that be a case of them moving over to The Dark Side? The Light Side? The Bright Side? Or perhaps The Right Side?

Let’s find out …

Introducing Lauren Hodgson … our newest tech recruiter from Phoenix, Arizona. Lauren has recruited for Apple, Infusionsoft and lululemon and is passionate about employer branding and hiring for culture fit.

How long have you been a part of the RecruitLoop community?

Actually about 3 years! I started on the client (employer) side when I led a recruitment team and was in need of an experienced independent recruiter. And now I’ve crossed over to the ‘other’ side, partnering with employers to help them attract the best talent.

What were you doing before you met us?

I’ve been in the people development/company culture/hiring space throughout my whole career. I’m a big believer that when we intentionally design and shape our cultures, we are able to lead more effective organizations and have better performance.

Most recently I led the hiring for a fast-growing tech company. Our recruitment team had less than 5 employees and we were filling around 350 roles a year so it was important that we led with employment branding at the helm.

What is the best part, for you, of being a ‘Looper‘?

I love that is so fast and easy to connect with the right people. It makes partnerships so simple!

What RecruitLoop feature do you think is the most awesome?

I love that RecruitLoop lets us customize and cater opportunities. Hiring and partnering is certainly not black and white and RecruitLoop makes it easy to come together in a natural way.

Why do you believe the RecruitLoop model works so well?

RecruitLoop lets people choose what works best for them. Our style, expertise, and needs are matched up based on what we choose is best, which gives the customized fit for each partnership.

What are your passions and interests outside work?

Right now I’m working on a project that is all about attracting and retaining top tech talent in Arizona, which has been really fun. I also love yoga, zip-lining (as evidenced in the photo above!), trying new restaurants, puns, and listening to podcasts galore.

What is something other Loopers may not know about you?

You can’t see it through my profile, but I love to car dance (come on … who doesn’t love to boogie at the wheel when we think nobody’s looking!). I also love fun costumes for Halloween.

What 5 words would your clients use to describe you?

Innovative. Visionary. Strategic. Determined. Authentic.

If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?

Our world will elevate when us humans have a greater sense of self-awareness. When we are mindful of how we are being, we are better parents, leaders, friends, partners, and teachers.

I’d love to see a movement of mindfulness! In fact, later this year, my husband and I will start an adventure of traveling parts of the world for about a year. A big piece of this trip for us will be about being present to the moment, to the amazing beauties and adventures the world has available, and to have a greater sense of awareness as individuals and as a couple.

If you could have dinner with five famous people (alive or dead) who would they be and why?

  • Simon Sinek: To work together;
  • Kristen Wiig & Tina Fey: To sit in the presence of amazing hilariousness and just laugh;
  • Maya Angelou: To just chat and be; and
  • Father Gregory Boyle from Homeboy Industries: To hear more crazy stories of gang-involved youth transforming their lives.
