We are so proud of our growing recruiter community, which is why we thought it might be fun to share some of their stories with you.

So each month we will be spotlighting two or three recruiters from different parts of the globe. We’ll be asking them to share their thoughts about what it’s like to be a RecruitLoop recruiter (or “Looper” as they are affectionately known!) as well as letting us in for a bit of a peek at some of their passions outside work.

For anyone that’s ever been at a conference or workshop where you’re asked to share a piece of information that people might find hard to believe, you’d appreciate what types of bizarre stories or facts people will share.

We love the stories our recruiters have … whether it be playing tennis with a world champion, winning an Olympic bronze medal, or appearing in a reality TV show, everyone has a tale to tell about life before recruitment.

Rob Jones 2One of our newest recruiters, Rob Jones, is located in Phoenix, Arizona, the home of the Great Pumpkin Festival, which is happening right now! I’m sure there’s much more to Phoenix than pumpkins but with Halloween around the corner, well …

We are absolutely thrilled to have Rob in our community.

He brings with him over 10 years experience in technical recruiting for small companies all the way up to some of the Fortune 500. Rob knows front end, middleware, back end, web based, database, routers and switches of multiple brands and, if he doesn’t know the technology he’ll be sure to research it thoroughly before beginning a project.

We recently caught up with Rob for quick chat.

How long have you been a part of the RecruitLoop community?

I’ve only been involved with RecruitLoop for about 3 months, so technically I’m still a bit of a newbie.

What were you doing before you met us?

I’d been a contingent recruiter for over a decade focusing on the Technology and Engineering sectors. I’ve become a bit of a specialist in those areas and have successfully built a very large network of candidates over the years.

What is the best part, for you, about being a ‘Looper’?

Definitely the flexibility. The fact that I have complete control over my schedule is great.

What RecruitLoop feature do you think is the most awesome?

Actually it’s not so much a feature, but the support I get from the RecruitLoop team is awesome. They all appreciate that recruiters can deliver a better service to clients if they are well supported and that’s exactly how I feel all the time.

Why do you believe the RecruitLoop model works so well?

The hourly-paid billing model saves clients a lot of money and because the whole thing happens online, it gives recruiters the freedom to deliver an outstanding service no matter where they are. Everybody wins!

What are your passions and interests outside work?

I am a bit of a Sci-Fi Fantasy nut – I manage to read about 4-5 Sci-Fi novels every month.

Anything fast. Old Muscle cars or motorcycles … I love to hit the throttle.

[Don’t worry … a passion for fast cars is certainly not a pre-requisite for become a RecruitLoop recruiter!]

And my kids … I have the greatest kids in the world!

What is something other Loopers may not know about you?

I have 6 pit bulls!

What 5 words would your clients use to describe you?

I’m pretty confident they would be: driven, honest, upbeat, dependable, … and smart.

If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?

Disney would not own Marvel!

If you could have dinner with five famous people (alive or dead) who would they be and why?

  1. James Dean because I have always been obsessed with the craziness of his life
  2. Robin Williams because I have always related to him on many levels
  3. Bruce Lee because … well, because he is Bruce Lee!
  4. Kevin Smith … I can’t help it, I think he is a genius both in comedy and did you see Red State?
  5. Jani Lane because I was a big hair 80’s metal guy and it has been said Jani never missed a note in his life in the studio or on stage!

That would certainly be a pretty cool dinner party!

We are glad you are part of our community Rob! Kids, pit bulls and Sci-Fi stories are all welcome!
