I’m the first to admit that ever since we started featuring “Recruiter Spotlights” here on the RecruitLoop blog we have pretty much focused on highlighting members of the Australian and US recruiter communities.<\/p>\n

It’s time to put a stop to that, to change the trend, and to shake things up a little!<\/p>\n

As the tourist brochures and advertising campaigns say, let’s shine the spotlight on\u00a0Incredible India<\/em> … the home of Bollywood<\/em>, the Taj Mahal, and the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel!<\/p>\n

Did you know that\u00a0India experiences six seasons? Well it does! Summer, autumn, winter, spring, summer monsoon, and winter monsoon. India is also the world\u2019s largest producer of dried beans\u00a0and leads the world in banana exports!<\/p>\n

But leaving Bollywood, bananas and beans aside, India is also the home of our very own\u00a0Achyut Menon<\/a> – recently named among the top 20 HR Influencers in India for 2017! Since he joined the RecruitLoop community, I’ve only ever called him AK.<\/p>\n

What’s your name?<\/b><\/em><\/h2>\n

Achyut … But my international pals definitely find ‘AK’ a lot easier to pronounce!<\/p>\n

How long have you been a part of the RecruitLoop community?<\/b><\/em><\/h2>\n

About a year and half now.<\/p>\n

What were you doing before you met us?<\/b><\/em><\/h2>\n

I have been a recruiter for nearly 25 years now\u00a0and I’ve been helping clients with various hiring solutions.<\/p>\n

What is the best part, for you, of being a Looper?<\/b><\/em><\/h2>\n

I love the weekly Recruiter Q& A sessions – they are an awesome experience to be abreast of\u00a0best practices and a chance to compare notes with recruiters from all over the world. One of the advantages for me about being based in India is that sometimes I will join the US Q&A and other weeks I’ll join the Aussie one.<\/p>\n

What RecruitLoop feature do you think is the most awesome?<\/b><\/em><\/h2>\n

The constant sharing of content and\u00a0insights tailored for recruiters and hiring managers anywhere in the world.<\/p>\n

Why do you believe the RecruitLoop model works so well?<\/b><\/em><\/h2>\n

The assured ‘pay for time’ model catapults a RecruitLoop recruiter\u00a0as trusted consultant,\u00a0as opposed to being perceived as a transactional recruitment service provider.<\/p>\n

What are your passions and interests outside work?<\/b><\/em><\/h2>\n

What’ “outside work”?!? I am forever minding other people’s business – stalking them :)! I also love cricket and tennis.<\/p>\n

What is something other Loopers may not know about you?<\/b><\/em><\/h2>\n

SHRM India (the Society for Human Resource Management) listed me as among the top 20 HR Influencers in India using social media in2013 and again for 2017!<\/p>\n

What 5 words would your clients use to describe you?<\/b><\/em><\/h2>\n

    If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?<\/b><\/em><\/h2>\n

    People ought to get paid for doing what they love doing most! There are far too many unhappy folks currently in the wrong job lacking the passion to make a difference to others around them. Too much of one’s identity is hinged on what one does for a living.<\/p>\n

    If you could have dinner with five famous people (alive or dead) who would they be and why?<\/b><\/em><\/h2>\n

    1. Mahatma Gandhi – for bringing about change amongst the masses in an age well before the internet!<\/li>\n
    2. Steve Jobs – based on his ability to bounce back from being sacked by Apple, follow his heart, and change the way people now listen to music, learn, and interact.<\/li>\n
    3. Amitabh Bachchan – a superstar in Indian films for constantly reinventing himself, and staying in the limelight for 40+ years.<\/li>\n
    4. Michelle Obama – I’m just really keen to know how her brain works. Something tells me she is the real force behind the former US President, his political rise to bring hope for millions while\u00a0leaving behind a scandal free life in a world where there is no privacy.<\/li>\n
