With the increased adoption of technology and people analytics by leading organisations, the role of an HR professional has been expanded to making sure they are aware of recent studies and actively researching new technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last couple of months there has been ground breaking research that all HR professionals should be aware of as sometimes we still need to look in the rear vision mirror to obtain a better idea of what direction we should take in the future. Here is some of the research that caught our eye:<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"pwc-engagement-index\"><strong>PwC Engagement Index<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Business impact of HR has shown improvements from the last year. Revenue\/FTE increased, indicating that the workforce is becoming increasingly productive<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>While employee engagement has recovered from last years\u2019 low, engagement still remains below the 2013 levels<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Talent acquisition times are getting longer, therefore efficiency of the selection process is worsening. Alarmingly it now takes an average of 68 days (10 weeks) from date of a job requisition to the date a new hire begins work. Is it any wonder that organisations are losing the best candidates!!<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"manpower-group-skills-revolution\"><strong>Manpower Group Skills Revolution<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Most employers expect automation and the adjustment to digitisation will bring a net gain for employment<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Expect the largest increases in \u201cmany HR professionals lack the robust analytical skills necessary to make use of new technologies\u201d as the biggest obstacle to using talent data in strategic decision
