This device unity would have been unforeseen even a decade back, which is nothing considering how long businesses have been operating. <br \/><\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p>However, these virtual workplaces are now starting to have a major impact on the UK workforce. According to reports, 50% of the UK will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zippia.com\/employer\/8-compelling-reasons-remote-jobs-are-on-the-rise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">working remotely<\/a> by 2020, while 82% of employees believe flexible work arrangements like this would make them more loyal to their company. <br \/><\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p>Figures like these can make you realise how important this is, whether you\u2019re an employee or employer.<br \/><\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p>Obviously the concept of \u2018virtual work\u2019 is not directly transferable to every role; some simply demand that you are physically at a location to fulfil your job. However technologies such as video conferencing (Skype, Google Hangouts, Zoom, etc) are helping to break down those barriers that may appear when someone needs a more personal and immediate interaction with a team. <br \/>Saying that, there are still hang-ups that we know managers have with remote working, and changing their mind may be difficult.
