Imagine this: You found the perfect candidate. Their portfolio is stunning. Their blog posts reflect a great personality and they seem like the perfect fit for the position.<\/p>\n

In fact, if you ever needed a designer, you wouldn\u2019t bother looking for anyone else. This person is working at a great company so they\u2019re pre-vetted. Now you just need to get in touch.<\/p>\n

You want to reach out … but you can\u2019t find their email.<\/p>\n

Sounds all too familiar, right?<\/p>\n

In the past, you might have spent half an hour looking for a single email address \u2026 and end up empty-handed. Or maybe you used LinkedIn but haven\u2019t heard back, indicating the user may not be checking their messages as frequently\u00a0as you\u2019d like.<\/p>\n

Well we have some solutions for you. Here are five methods to find an email address. The best part is each method takes less than five minutes<\/em>. Now you can easily get in touch and send that candidate an amazing opportunity. Let\u2019s review each.<\/p>\n

1. Browse their portfolio or website.<\/h2>\n

It sounds obvious, but it\u2019s not always the easiest to find. Sometimes their about page and contact pages are hidden. In other cases, you might find the page but their email isn\u2019t a link. Instead you might find \u201csam.smith [at] lonelyhour [dot] com.\u201d<\/p>\n

Take for example, my contact page has a link for my email, that\u2019s easy to spot, and if you can\u2019t spot it, there\u2019s a contact form to fill out as well.<\/p>\n

Whereas, Brian Balfour\u2019s about page tells you his email, but it\u2019s easy to miss.<\/p>\n

2. Try Email Hunter.<\/h2>\n

Using Email Hunter, you can get a list of emails of people who work at a company in two steps:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Type in the domain name<\/li>\n
  2. Press \u201center.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    And you\u2019ll get a list of emails from that domain like so …<\/p>\n

    It\u2019s almost too easy.<\/p>\n

    3. Try Voila Norbert.<\/h2>\n

    All you have to do is put in their first and last name and the domain name. Norbert will do the rest. Like Email Hunter, Voila Norbert is most useful if you know where the candidate currently works.<\/p>\n

    It isn\u2019t as useful if you\u2019re trying to find a personal email. In which case, you can try your luck by putting \u201cgmail.com\u201d or \u201cyahoo.com\u201d as the domain.<\/p>\n

    4. Export email addresses from LinkedIn connections.<\/h2>\n

    Here\u2019s a trick to get someone\u2019s email address if you\u2019re connected on LinkedIn.<\/p>\n

    Log in to LinkedIn and from your homepage click on \u201cConnections\u201d at the top. Then click on the cog icon to the right of the screen. Finally, click on \u201cExport LinkedIn Connections\u201d on the right side. Export as a .CSV file.<\/p>\n

    Open the .CSV in Excel or Google Sheets and you\u2019ll find the information from the profiles of all your contacts, including their email.<\/p>\n

    Boom.<\/p>\n

    5. Reach out on Twitter.<\/h2>\n

    If worst comes to worst and nothing works, you can always reach out to the person and let them know you\u2019re interested in connecting. However, it\u2019s important that you don\u2019t immediately let them know you\u2019re trying to recruit them. Take the networking approach and build a relationship.<\/p>\n

    You can\u2019t afford to let a candidate go just because you couldn\u2019t find an email to get in touch. Some methods can take up to 30 minutes to find an email. That\u2019s inefficient.<\/p>\n
