In late 1988, the Kirksville Regional Center and administration of High Hope Employment Services, Inc., determined a definite need for clientele enrolled in the day habilitation program to be promoted into a program, which would increase community integration and employability.
In 1989 a recycling center was opened.
Headway Corporate Resources arose out of a 1991 merger between an executive search firm, the Whitney Group, and an advertising and public relations agency, AlbertFrank-Guenther Law.
The corporation's initial purpose was to serve as a holding company for a number of consulting firms, including prominent financial consultant Furash & Co., acquired in 1995.
Creation of Headway Corporate Resources in 1996
Community Integration services were added in 1997 to provide off-site training and support to individuals diagnosed with DD. Community Integration is a service, which provides training to individuals to increase skills necessary for living in the community.
In 1997 Headway opened a Western hub in Montebello, California, with just three staff and five temporary employees, working out of a 500-square-foot office.
A new building was purchased in July 1998.
After reaching a high of $11.75 in 1998, Headway stock fell to a low of $3.19, a level at which it floundered.
1999: Company acquires U.K. executive search firm Tyzack and Partners Ltd.
A satellite office was opened in Kirksville in November 2000 to consolidate l6 consumers from another supported employment provider that had gone out of business.
The Confidential Document Destruction business was started in 2000, requiring the construction of a new storage building.
In 2000 Headway initiated a major deal that could have a significant impact on its future growth.
2000: Company agrees to serve as the exclusive United States agent representing information technology specialists from the People's Republic of China.
In October 2004 High Hope opened its supportive housing project, Friendship Apartments.
In 2007 a new building was purchased to expand our recycling operation in Kirksville and provide ample space for the satellite office.
