EmployBridge company history timeline

1998

As a sponsor/supplier of the 1998 World Cup football (soccer) tournament in France, Manpower hires and trains people for every World Cup-related job, from the site managers who have overall responsibility for operations at each World Cup venue to the more than 12,000 volunteers.

2001

Manpower acquires Jefferson Wells International, Inc., a rapidly growing professional services provider of internal audit, accounting, technology and tax services, for $174 million in July of 2001.

2007

In September 2007, Manpower moved to a new consolidated headquarters in downtown Milwaukee.

2009

On October 22, 2009, Manpower co-founder and past president Elmer Winter passes away at the age of 97.

2011

Manpower is also recognized as an industry leader by Fortune magazine, which named the company in first place on its 2011 list of the Most Admired Companies in the temporary help sector.

2015

Jeffrey A. Joerres retires as Executive Chairman from the Board of Directors, effective December 30, 2015.
