Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required
Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state where work site is located is required
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Must have at a minimum previous nursing experience in at least one of the following settings: Operating Room (OR), Pre/Post-Op, Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC), PACU, ICU, Medical Surgical or Telemetry floors
Favorable result on background check required
Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States

Position Summary:
This Engineering Technician Associate position is the entry level for the Engineering Technician class series. This position is located in Chanute, KS and is within the Bureau of Structures and Geotechnical Services.
This Engineering Technician Associate position provides assistance and technical support in conducting geotechnical field investigations and the preparation of associated reports. Works with all equipment and power drilling equipment during field operations and assists in the drilling operations. Collects and records data and is responsible for the classification of material, the subsurface position of materials and its engineering properties as used for design and construction.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
* Works with all equipment and power drilling equipment during field operations and assists in the drilling operations. Collects and records data and is responsible for the classification of material, the subsurface position of materials and its engineering properties as used for design and construction. Reviews this data for completeness and accuracy as it is obtained and reviews all information before completion of field work.
* Provides for the care and daily maintenance of core drilling equipment, sampling equipment and testing tools so that this very expensive equipment receives proper storage and repair. Schedules or makes arrangements for repair and maintenance of this equipment.
* Assists in the development of geotechnical reports from data collected for bridge foundations, general engineering geology, and bridge deck condition surveys.
* Assists with the mobilization of equipment on instructions from the geologist and senior technician (senior level crew chief). Decides what equipment and instruments will be required for maximum efficiency of operation in the field.
* Assists in the drafting of geological information from field data acquired for sue with electronic cross-sections and profiles. This may include drafting with CADD software and/or by hand.
* Assists in training of drill crew personnel and is responsible for safety during field operations.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
* Valid Driver's License at time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in the use of CADD and computer applications.
* Training in the use of complex drilling testing and sampling equipment including techniques in coring and sampling difficult soils and rock.
* Two years of technical experience in appropriate specialty in engineering, engineering technology, or a physical science field.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with public and private officials, the public, co-workers, and subordinates
Post-Offer/Pre-employment Requirements:
* A CDL must be obtained within 60 days of hire and maintained. KDOT provides CDL training at no cost to the employee.
* This position is subject to pre-employment physical capacity testing. The selected candidate will be required to pass the screening as a condition of employment.
* This CDL position is subject to drug and alcohol testing under the authority of the US Department of Transportation. The selected candidate will be required to pass a DOT pre-employment/pre-duty drug test as a condition of employment in this position. (This position will also require you to participate in random testing, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return-to-duty, and follow-up testing.)
* Any Commercial Driver who has received a Confirmed Positive Result or the Equivalent and has not successfully completed all Rehabilitation Program requirements and follow-up testing requirements is not eligible for this position. (Per SOM 2.1.10).
