Your Responsibilities:
Assesses equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods
Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
Trims metal components using heat, fire, and electricity
Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Uses electricity and torches to produce heat and solder together components made from steel, titanium, copper, and other metals
Monitors equipment for appropriate usage and temperature
Maintains a thorough knowledge of universal standards and specifications in order to meet building codes and legal requirements
Monitors work environment for hazards and maintains healthy ventilation levels to avoid particle or gas inhalation
Follows safety protocol, including wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
What You'll Need:
Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)
Mechanical inclination or a thorough understanding of heavy machinery.
Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
Deftness and attention to detail
Relevant welder or welding fabricator certifications
Knowledge of chemistry and metallurgy
Understanding of electricity
Attention to detail
Education:
High School graduate or G.E.D.
Previous welding experience

This is a Full Time position opportunity. We have heavy equipment such as material handlers, front end loaders, and excavators that are essential to our operations. We also have conveyor belts.
The Mechanic that we are looking for must have flexibility to work on heavy equipment as well as machinery, and maintain equipment through planned and preventative maintenance procedures as directed. This includes fuel and lubrication, inspecting and testing, diagnosing malfunctions, dismantling and reassembling, and installing parts.
The Mechanic will also be able to work on our facility conveyor belts, and other machinery.
We are seeking a very skilled Mechanic with at least 5 years of maintenance experience. Experience in repair of metal processing equipment and trucks is helpful. We would like to see a background in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical areas.
Compensation is dependent on experience.

Load and unload scrap metal materials, bales, bins, boxes, crates, etc. onto and from customer trailers, truck beds, bins, and other cargo as needed.
Transfer all necessary materials from one place to another; pick up falling material during transfer.

Identify, sort, label, move and transfer metal materials.
