The Process Performance Controls Engineer will provide controls engineering support for the Advanced Process Control (APC) projects team. In addition to configuration work to support advanced process control, this person will also provide operational support to existing control systems in Airgas with multiple platform configurations. This person will also help with plant network management, and control-related software product installation, testing and troubleshooting. Pay Range: $108,000-135,000/year + bonus Travel: Up to 10% Design and implement the control logic required to achieve the objectives of the APC program. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer, chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineering or equivalent controls work experience 5-15+ years of operating plants PLC/DCS experience with Allen Bradley and/or Delta V Willing to travel 10% of time within North America Preferred Qualifications: 5-15+ years of operating plants PLC/DCS experience with additional platforms such as Modicon, Wonderware, etc. Flexible to support operations with availability outside normal working hours for problem resolution Electrical knowledge on instrumentation and control circuits (24V d/c) and low voltage a/c Experience in specifying control components including PLCs, safety hardware, sensors, relays, valves and positioners. Marathon Petroleum Company Ohio Refining Division is posting for Project Engineer II/III to fill a vacancy for an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer in the Engineering Department. We are seeking an experienced engineering professional with strong leadership and technical expertise (focused on electrical and instrumentation) to support our refinery process and operations team. Expect to manage small capital and expense projects along with daily support activities to maintain and optimize existing operating units. Projects typically range in size from $20,000 - $50,000,000. This role requires demonstrated ability to lead multiple complex projects and mentor junior engineers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: + Serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical leadership within the engineering department, supporting all phases of capital and expense projects. Lead and facilitate technical reviews, ensuring compliance with specifications, codes and standards. + Define scope, provide justification (economic models or life cycle cost analysis), develop cost estimates, schedule design and implementation activities, and secure funding for capital and expense projects. + Utilize Electrical and Instrumentation knowledge to support the operations Area Teams, critically think and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation problems in collaboration with Maintenance and Operations departments. + Demonstrate advanced project management skills in all phases of project engineering from conception to closeout. + Oversee multiple high-value projects simultaneously, ensuring strategic alignment, safety, and cost efficiency + Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers + Direct and manage in-house designers and outside engineering contractors + Developing and reviewing construction packages to ensure new installations meet MPC and all applicable industry codes and standards. + Specifying and purchasing of electrical/instrument engineered material for assigned projects. + Use experience to provide field construction support and final project installation sign-off. + Support the Process Safety Management processes for ORD assets through collaborative reviews; including unit and/or project specific HAZOPS, LOPA, PHA, MOC Hazard evaluations, or PSI updates. + Conferring project stakeholders throughout a project life cycle + Providing electrical and instrumentation assistance during Construction and Turnaround phases. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required. Electrical Engineering is preferred. + Two years or more of industry experience is required. Four years or more of industry experience is preferred. + Familiarity with Smart Instrumentation (SI) is preferred. + Familiarity with ETAP (or equivalent) is preferred. + Experience with industrial Instrumentation and Controls system & power system design is preferred. + PMP certification is preferred. + Experience with mentoring junior engineers is a plus.
