Summary: We are currently recruiting for several on-call counselor positions in Alto's Drinking Driver Program in Santa Cruz and Watsonville. The Drinking Driver Program is a great place to develop psychoeducational and group facilitation skills while working a part-time and flexible schedule. We currently provide group counseling sessions and educational sessions for Wet Reckless, First Offense and Multiple Offense DUI programs. Clients participate in our classes to work towards regaining their driver's license. We provide services in English and Spanish and staff work across both North and South County offices. Additionally, most staff shifts occur M-Fri from 12 or later due to accommodating client schedules. If you are an applicant that needs to be available for other needs during the day but need to work late afternoons or evenings, this position may be a good fit for you! Currently we are providing telehealth services to clients and prior to the pandemic all services were in person. Applicants will be expected to provide in person services as they come available and may access the COVID-19 vaccine as a Phase 1a Encompass healthcare employee. Duties & Responsibilities: Conduct 1-2 hour psychoeducational counseling or education groups using the Drinking Driver Program curriculum and other evidenced based approaches. Conduct individual 15-minute counseling sessions as a check in regarding progress on the client's program goals. Follow all documentation procedures including attendance, absences, chart notes, group notes, etc. in a timely manner Prepare for Group Sessions and Education Classes 15 minutes prior to start, Review communiques to be handed out, Ensure sign-in rosters are prepared, extra LOA and Progress Note forms on hand, Prepare group room (seating arrangements, lighting, heating, A/C, etc.) Monitor clients to ensure they are complying to program conduct codes (loitering, smoking, bicycles in building, no food/drink, etc.) Support the administrative tasks of the program and documentation follow up as needed. Qualifications Active registration number as a drug and alcohol counselor with a DHCS approved counseling organization (CCAPP, CADTP) (proof of registration will be required upon hire) Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor preferred High school diploma or GED, some college in health and human services or addiction studies preferred (proof of education will be required upon hire) A minimum of 1 year of full-time experience (or 2080 hours) in Drug and Alcohol Counseling, preferably working in a counseling or treatment setting with clients struggling with substance use, mental health, and criminal justice system involvement Bilingual in Spanish preferred Applicant must have active driver's license and the ability to drive to and from the offices in Watsonville and Santa Cruz. Candidate must be able to work in a telehealth setting (have a confidential space) and in an office setting Strong time management and organizational skills Strong writing skills Women, candidates of color, LGBTQIA identifying, and/or individuals with lived experience of behavioral health systems are highly encouraged to apply. Job Summary: We currently have a full-time Residential Counselor opening at our Casa Pacific site, located in Watsonville. Reporting to the Program Manager, under close supervision, the role of the counselor is to provide support and assistance to clients in planning and attaining their goals. Special focus will be on the client's needs related to the housing, physical health, issues of chemical dependency and mental health, stabilization of income, and reentry back into the community. Services will be delivered with dignity and respect for each individual resident. Duties & Responsibilities: Establish a close working relationship with residents in the program. Perform clinical duties, which will include individual counseling and facilitating house meetings and groups. Assist clients in crisis situations. Supervise daily activities of clients, including performing support services that assist clients in everyday living skills. This may include supervision of clients' chores, monitoring mealtime activities, conducting social and recreational activities, etc. Complete intake, assessment, and evaluation paperwork with clients. Monitor and track client's use of medications; conduct client urine tests. Transport clients to appointments as necessary. Communicate with case managers and other service providers about client status. Maintain facility cleanliness in accord with residential licensing standards, as well as complete household duties such as shopping for supplies and laundry. Maintain clinical charts and complete required paperwork in a timely manner as required by the County, State, and component guidelines. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field Two year demonstrated supervised work experience in related program Experience in providing services to populations experiencing mental health issues, co-occurring disorders, or comparable population Flexibility to work varied shifts, including primarily evenings and one weekend shift Ability to work in an intense environment dealing with varied personalities and cultures Ability to role model daily living skills in a positive manner Demonstrated ability to organize and complete tasks Excellent written and verbal communication skills Valid California driver's license and clearance for agency vehicle insurance coverage Fingerprinting for licensing, criminal record clearance and necessary physical exams are required Demonstrated ability to constructively deal with a high degree of physical and emotional stress Bilingual in Spanish and English highly desirable Ability to be a team player, maintain effective working relationships and communicate in a respectful and professional manner when dealing with fellow employees, outside agencies and residents Ability to maintain and clean, safe and supportive environment Wages & Benefits: We prioritize the well-being of our team as much as the community we serve. JOB SUMMARY: We currently have a full-time opening for a Night Counselors at Casa Pacific Residential Center. Casa Pacific is an 11-bed residential program for individuals with mental illness and co-occurring substance use issues. This is an overnight awake position. The program is part of an innovative project which centers on work and meaningful daily activities as the core of the treatment approach, and collaborates closely with Community Connection's Mariposa Center. The Night Counselor is available to work four 10-hour shifts 10:30PM to 8:00AM. Responsibilities include insuring the safety and well-being of the residents and the facility and support the program operations. Encompass will train you to provide a host of services at our residential mental health and substance use disorder treatment programs. We are looking for individuals who have direct experience working with individuals who struggle with mental illness as well as people with a passion to serve this population. We are looking for night counselors with the skill and ability to work with clients who have multiple complex health needs and who are able to manage multiple tasks. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Insure adequate security for program residents and property. Responsible for dealing with client behavioral and/or medical issues and facility fire, or natural emergencies while on duty. Medication Passing and Inventory May provide therapeutic crisis management. May provide therapeutic intervention services based on best practices & selected evidence based practices for mental health or substance use disorders and/or co-occurring disorders. Services may include administrative functions in support of clients and their families, evaluation, assessment, counseling, and/or assisting in the implementation of appropriate treatment plan and/or the facilitation of individual, group, family, and crisis counseling. File maintenance, incident reporting, shift change reporting, household duties as required. General security checks, headcounts. Comply with regulatory requirements. Must respond to emails. Must communicate effectively and be able to use current technology in the following areas: case notes, incident reports, correspondence with community service providers. The primary goal of the program is to assist individuals stepping down from locked treatment or locked placement and facilitate those individuals re-entry and transition back into the community. Job Summary: We currently have a full-time Mental Health Counselor position at El Dorado Center. The role of the Counselor is to provide support and assistance to clients in planning and attaining their goals. Special focus will be on the client's needs related to the housing, physical health, issues of chemical dependency and mental health, stabilization of income, and reentry back into the community. The Residential Counselor will be expected to demonstrate an increased skill level and leadership qualities, and role model positive work habits and act as Manager in Manager's absence. The Counselor will be responsible for supervising, facilitating and scheduling groups and will have the knowledge and ability to make independent decisions and will be on-call after hours and on weekends to deal with crises at the program. Services will be delivered with dignity and respect for each individual resident. Duties & Responsibilities: Provide clinical services including, case management, group counseling and assist to clients in crisis situations. Supervise and provide support to staff: workloads, trainings, development plans, performance evaluations, ensure clear lines of responsibility. Establish a close working relationship with residents in the program. Perform clinical duties, which will include individual counseling and facilitating house meetings and groups.Assist clients in crisis situations. Supervise daily activities of clients, including performing support services that assist clients in everyday living skills.This may include supervision of clients' chores, monitoring mealtime activities, conducting social and recreational activities, etc. Complete intake, assessment and evaluation paperwork with clients. Monitor and track client's use of medications; conduct client urine tests. Transport clients to appointments as necessary. Communicate with case managers and other service providers about client status. Maintain a safe, clean and sober environment. Maintain clinical charts and complete required paperwork in a timely manner as required by the County, State, and component guidelines. Participate in the effort to keep the facility clean, well maintained and running smoothly. This may include household duties such as shopping for supplies, laundry and cleaning. Provide on-call after hours every other weekend and during manager's time-off.
