The position is for a jointly appointed UF/VA faculty member with a full-time (8/8ths) VA and 0.5 FTE UF appointment. Their primary clinical assignment will be at the Gainesville VA, joining two full-time VA-based faculty members as the third partner within this practice. The Division provides all clinical care for UF Health Shands Hospital and the Malcom Randall Veterans Affairs Medical Centers immediately adjacent to the Shands Hospital. Both institutions provide care for a large geographic referral area and are recognized as their region's leading tertiary care institutions. The volume and complexity of the cases at both institutions are very good, and the Division has mature, established practices in complex aortic diseases, lower extremity occlusive disease, complex hemodialysis access, and the full spectrum of venous diseases. The Division has a long-standing commitment to both Resident and Fellow education, and it is anticipated that the new surgeon will be involved in this effort.
