The Psychiatrist functions as liaison between CSS, the medical community and the State facilities: assists other clinical staff in developing individualized service plans for individuals served by the agency. What You'll Do: * Provide psychiatric evaluations and medication evaluations. * Administer somatic therapies, including prescriptions and periodic review of medications, including drug interactions and medication side effects * Monitor the physical health of agency clients using appropriate labs and evaluation of movement disorders. * Perform assessments of mentally ill adults through reviewing clinical records and attaining collateral information. * Lead interdisciplinary treatment team(s). * Provide clinical consultation to professional and paraprofessional staff. * Assist in reviewing the effectiveness of adult programs. * May provide liaison with medical community, CSS and State facilities. * Maintain safety and security of clients, while ensuring the use of least restrictive methods. * Determine the need for, and request referrals to obtain services of other medical specialists. * Provide coordination of treatment for the physical health of clients for services being provided by CSS or in the community. * Examine and certify patients requiring involuntary psychiatric evaluation pursuant to the provisions of the Mental Health Code.
