About the Team

Providence Physician Enterprise (PE) is a service line within Providence serving patients across seven states with quality, compassionate, coordinated care. Olympus is looking for Associate Endoscope Technicians, Endoscope Technicians I, and Endoscope Technicians II.

Hiring Location: San Jose, CA

**Job Duties :**

* Every Endoscope Technician must understand and accept the responsibility to ensure the safety of all Olympus products that are repaired, by following established processes and procedures.

* Under direction of the Production Supervisor, the Technician shall evaluate, troubleshoot, disassembly, assemble, repair and/or inspect Endoscopes to assure proper function.

* Uses a variety of small hand tools and test equipment to make repairs and facilitate disassembly and reassembly.

* Completes and maintains accurate service records both electronically and manually.

* Ensures that safe work practices are employed by observing guidelines established or enforced by Olympus.

* May be assigned to support business needs by working in other areas outside their primary responsibility.

* Proactively participates in the quality systems, quality improvement and "5S" programs as directed by the Production Supervisor.

* Maintains confidentiality of documents and processes.

* The Technician must accomplish these objectives while maintaining a clean, well-organized work environment.

* The Technician will be expected to maintain acceptable standards for attendance and punctuality, and as a condition of employment, work overtime as needed.

* All Technicians must have sufficient manual dexterity with small hand tools (such as screwdrivers, electric screwdrivers, pliers, tweezers); experience or ability to work with microscopes, test equipment (such as light sources, video processors, mega ohm testers) and hand soldering, where applicable; good communication skills (both verbal and written); the ability to read and follow manuals, work instructions, job standards and related information; possess basic computer skills (including keyboard and mouse skills); and must be customer focused/oriented.

**Job Requirements: :**

(ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED):

**Associate Endoscope Technician:**

* Requires a minimum of six months to one year of electro-mechanical experience and/or demonstrated repair ability.

**Endoscope Technician I:**

* Requires a minimum of one-year experience at the Associate Endoscope Technician level unless previous repair experience with Olympus endoscopes can be demonstrated.

* Demonstrated skill in Endoscope disassembly, assembly, repair, final inspection or equivalent in precision repair activity while maintaining productivity, quality and attendance standards.

**Endoscope Technician II:**

* Requires a minimum of three to four years of endoscopy repair experience, or may advance based on management's discretion and demonstrated job performance.

Position Responsibilities

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful Endoscopic Technician will:

* Assists physicians and nurses with GI procedures
* Sets up endoscopic equipment including specific individualized equipment after assessment of patient.
* Assists physicians and RNs throughout procedures
* Handles instrumentation from basic to complex procedures.
* Takes actions to reduce or eliminate patient risk

Professional Accountability

* Follows policies, protocols, and guidelines set forth by THR.
* Communicates all ethical and legal concerns through the established chain of command.
* Initiates actions to protect patient rights and/or preferences.
* Attends 80% of all staff meetings or 100% of all staff meeting minutes are read.
* Attends training and educational opportunities made available to the GI Lab staff.
* Completes training modules on a timely basis.
* Communicates with the manager or educator for unit if any delay or problems exist.

Teamwork/Partnership

* Demonstrates teamwork and partnership in delivering care in the GI Lab.
* Shares knowledge/advanced skills with co-workers to enhance efficiency of procedures.

Infection Control / Safety Measures

* Follows all safety measures/infection control measures throughout duties assigned.
