In this transformative leadership role as Director, New Energy you will use your extensive knowledge in current, and emerging low-carbon and carbon-neutral energy technologies to lead the development of our go-to-market and sales strategy. In addition, you will lead the expansion of our ability to serve market and client needs in this rapidly evolving space. These “new energy” technologies include, but are not limited to; solar, wind, carbon capture and sequestration, hydrogen, wind, ammonia and energy storage. Experience in traditional energy conservation and reduction measures and mitigation technologies, particularly through digitalization, would be ideal.

Drive the expansion of our ability to serve and revenue growth in the low-carbon and carbon-neutral energy market.
Collaborate with our Sustainability and Marketing organizations, as well as our Business Units, to develop our go-to-market and sales strategy for New Energy.
Be a leading stakeholder in defining client needs, developing marketing and sales enablement messaging and collateral.
Engage with key stakeholders across Rockwell Automation in identifying portfolio and capability gaps and propose solutions (organic and inorganic) that would enhance our ability to serve.
Work with the Global Industry leadership team to develop and resource a New Energy organization based on key market and client needs.
Proactively lead development and success in New Energy opportunities in conjunction with the Global Industry sales organization, geographical sales regions, software selling organization, and business units.
Coordinate with key stakeholders to develop sales strategies and execution tactics tailored to client needs.
Clearly, succinctly, and professionally articulate the qualitative and quantitative value of our suite of offerings (including those of our Partners), at all levels, especially executive, to our client organizations.
Provide guidance and direction to the sales organizations in communicating the value of our portfolio and capabilities in the low-carbon and carbon-neutral energy space.
Assist in supporting relationships with key global clients for their the low-carbon and carbon-neutral energy needs.
Raise Rockwell Automation's global profile in New Energy, through thought leadership in engagement with industry and trade associations and speaking engagement at industry events.

Develop a process to assess Distributed Energy Resources (DER) value for US utilities and/or government agencies
Develop internal- and external-facing tools and workflows that enable strategic decision-making process
Assist with developing and designing innovative DER program strategies and roadmaps
Support strategic decisions by evaluating and benchmarking DER program
Oversee market research on various DER technologies including measure adoption, saturation, feasibility, etc.

Master's degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Electrical Engineering, Building Science, Energy Management, Energy Policy and Planning, or related subjects
3+ years of related energy industry experience, including experience in DER technology assessment (e.g EE, DR, solar and storage)
Experience with data science, and machine learning in Python or R
Understanding of economic valuation such as NPV and IRR analysis, and utility cost-effectiveness tests
Knowledge of evaluation, measurement, and verification of energy efficiency
Understanding of building science, heat transfer and thermodynamics
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including advanced programming experience
Strong writing and communication skills
Experience with data handling, transformation and analysis
Experience with statistical analysis and inference
Experience and knowledge of renewables, and energy storage systems
Experience with energy modeling tools (e.g., OpenStudio, EnergyPlus) and developing new measures in Ruby
Knowledge of energy policy and regulation especially related to DER / DSM. Experience in regulatory and public stakeholder processes would be highly valued.
