The Role:
This role reports to VP, Enterprise Architecture
Preferred candidate to be located in Spokane, WA or Boston, MA.
This senior technical role spans infrastructure, reliability, software delivery, and cost optimization, focusing on designing and maintaining hybrid environments (cloud and on-prem) with scalability, security, and resilience. It drives automation, CI/CD, and rapid incident resolution while championing FinOps principles to balance performance and cost through cloud governance. Success depends on collaboration across teams and continuous improvement, with mentoring responsibilities included.
Core:
Maintain and patch systems, ensuring compliance and high availability.
Implement and test disaster recovery strategies for hybrid environments.
Optimize infrastructure resource allocation, performance, scalability, and fault tolerance across hybrid environments.
Automate repetitive tasks to reduce manual intervention.
Set up monitoring tools to track system health across cloud and on-prem environments.
Define and measure SLIs/SLOs for critical services.
Monitor application performance, latency, and resource utilization.
Create actionable alerts and dashboards for system and cost performance.
Automate incident response, monitoring, and alerting.
Diagnose and develop fixes to be implemented quickly and efficiently for production incidents.
Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for incident management.
Implement security best practices across the infrastructure stack.
Perform vulnerability assessments and manage access controls.
Ensure compliance with industry standards (GDPR, SOC 1, SOC 2, etc.).
Bridge gaps between development, infrastructure, IT support, operations, and other teams to ensure seamless delivery.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other DevOps Engineers.
Communicate technical insights effectively to stakeholders.
Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Be an active contributor in the DevOps Community of Practice.
Public Cloud (Azure / AWS)
Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) for cloud environments.
Manage identity and access solutions, including Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and Okta.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing and deployment.
Champion a culture of continuous integration, delivery, and improvement.
Monitor and analyze cloud usage and costs across AWS and Azure.
Implement cost optimization strategies (rightsizing, reserved instances, autoscaling).
Enforce mandatory tagging for cost allocation and governance.
Develop dashboards and reports to provide visibility into cloud spend for stakeholders.
Collaborate with finance and engineering teams to forecast budgets and track variances.
Establish governance policies for cloud resource provisioning and cost accountability.
Respond to cost anomalies and recommend corrective actions.
Advocate for FinOps principles within engineering teams to balance performance and cost.
Private Cloud (Data Center)
Provision and manage on-premise infrastructure in data centers, including servers, storage, and networking.
Build and maintain virtual machine templates for consistent deployments.
Manage identity and access solutions, including Active Directory and Okta.
Implement cost optimization strategies (rightsizing).
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required in one of the following fields; computer science or related field
Master's Degree preferred in one of the following fields; computer science or related field
Azure/AWS Certifications preferred
Minimum 7 years of experience in Information Technology
At least 7 years of systems engineering, software engineering or DevOps engineering experience
Advanced knowledge and expertise in DevOps practices
Advanced experience using infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Git, Chef, Puppet, and Ansible
Advanced experience with vulnerability scanners and remediation.
Expert with cloud services (AWS or Azure)
Advance experience with containerization
Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Windows, Active Directory
Advance experience with VMWare, Enterprise Class Servers and Storage
Experience with ISO/SSAE16/NIST or equivalent compliance is preferred
Advanced knowledge of firewalls, load balancers, VLANs, managed switches and routers
Familiarity with ITIL framework
May consider a combination of relevant experience with educational and other skills and abilities in lieu of educational requirements

The target pay range for this position is $111,000-$156,000.

Assist with stocking the shipping and receiving department to include lifting and carrying cartons and placing them on appropriate shelves.
Receive a floorplan and instruct and execute the delivery with other helpers.
The Driver/Installer must wear the uniform provided by AFR at all times during work hours.
Perform other related duties as assigned and required by management.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
Organization and time management skills.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Customer service and problem solving oriented.
Available to work rotating shifts, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
Ability to use basic tools such as screwdriver, cordless drills, hammers, or any other assembly tool.
Basic math knowledge, organization and reading skills.
EDUCATION:
Degree: High School or Equivalent
Languages: English and Spanish languages preferable; verbal and written.
EXPERIENCE:
At least six months of experience in a similar industry, warehousing and inventory knowledge from a delivery company or similar industry.
Required to be able to operate a 26' box truck.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
Valid Driver's license - must meet the insurance underwriting requirements (no points of violations in the past twelve months).
Able to pass DOT Physical test, which includes but is not limited to pre-employment Drug Testing.
Background check is required.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL QUALIFICATIONS:
This job will require lifting 75 pounds, climbing stairs, bending, crouching, and being physically active for extended periods of time.
The Driver/Installer will adhere and comply with DOT regulations.
