Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an experienced Geologist/Engineer to join our team in Augusta, GA.
In this role, you will work alongside senior Geologists, Engineers, and Project Managers (PMs) to support a diverse portfolio of environmental remediation and restoration projects. You will oversee the day-to-day activities of entry-level staff; schedule and coordinate task resources and solicit guidance from senior-level technical staff and PMs.
This position requires both field and office work; you should expect to be in the field/traveling up to 50% of the time. You must have a good driving record, be willing to work outside in all weather conditions and for extended periods. Fieldwork may be performed at project sites with environmental media (e.g., soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, etc.) that has been impacted with hazardous substances and/or hazardous wastes.
Role accountabilities:
* Performing fieldwork, including conducting site assessments; overseeing/managing drilling, groundwater well installation, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, aquifer testing; subcontractor oversight/coordination; and safety inspections.
* Assisting with the design, oversight, and analysis of environmental site investigations, including soil, and groundwater; development of conceptual site models; conceptual design and performance evaluation of remedial systems; and preparation of technical reports and presentations.
* Assisting with the task management/coordination, technical data reviews, cost estimate preparation, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file review, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and establishment of subcontracts.
* Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting field data.
* Conducting project-related research (historical data, regulations, etc.)
* Working effectively and collaboratively in team situations and establishing strong relationships with other teams, including training/mentoring junior staff.

**This Opportunity**
WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Sr. Engineering Geologist - CA PG/CEG** to support geotechnical, land use, and environmental projects in our **Sacramento, CA** office. The following locations will also be considered: **Sunnyvale, CA** ; and **Irvine, CA** . Be involved in projects with our **Waste Management, Earth & Environment Team** and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.
The qualified candidate shall be a Professional Geologist and Certified Engineering Geologist in the State of California with a minimum of 10 years of experience in consulting. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplinary project teams directed towards solving complex problems for our solid waste, mining, and manufacturing client base. The position requires effective verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated team leadership skills, a positive attitude and strong project management skills.
**Your Impact**
+ Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients by providing technical expertise, attending client meetings, and leading project development pursuits
+ Lead on interface and negotiations with regulatory agencies (local, state, and federal agencies) on behalf of our clients
+ Supervise and manage geologists to perform geologic field reconnaissance and mapping for the identification of geologic hazards and site characterization;
+ Plan and manage subsurface field geologic exploration tasks including HSA, direct push, rotosonic, and rotary drilling campaigns;
+ Provide interpretation of subsurface conditions and develop conceptual geologic models
+ Review geologic samples and geologic unit identification, assign laboratory testing and supervise the preparation of exploration records;
+ Provide direction on the design and installation of monitoring wells and geotechnical instrumentation (VWP's, inclinometers, transducers, etc.);
+ Interpret geologic, geochemical, and geophysical data and write geotechnical and geologic reports for submittal to regulatory agencies;
+ Conduct geologic research, write project proposals and reports;
+ Provide technical direction and oversight as well as mentoring and training to junior-level Golder staff;
+ Ensure technical reports and presentations explain research, findings, and recommendations to prevent, control, remedy, or clean-up chemical and environmental problems and contamination.
+ Oversee and monitor cross-functional teams in executing project work.
+ Provide verbal and/or written inputs to multi-disciplinary project teams and contribute to providing high level strategic advice to clients.

+ Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
+ Professional registration: CA Professional Geologist (PG) and CA Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG)
+ Experience managing complex subsurface investigations including drilling, soil classification, monitoring well installation and instrumentation;
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently with a strong attention to detail and work product quality.
+ Experience and proficiency using remote sensing data (LIDAR and aerial imagery) and GIS tools to develop geologic maps and identify geologic hazards
