Overview of the position:
At Clark Pacific, the Project Engineer is a position that facilitates the successful design, fabrication, and installation of architectural and structural building systems. Working as part of an integrated team within a specific business unit, this role applies engineering, project management, problem solving, and communication skills across all levels and disciplines within the organization, significantly contributing to the project success of some of the West Coast's most iconic and exciting prefabricated buildings.
Initial activities pertaining to the Design Phase, including, but not limited to: Submittal drawings (floor plans, elevations, material specifications, connection details, Reinforcing details, General panel details, Design approvals, Reinforcement drawings, and Miscellaneous metal drawings.
Manufacturing-related activities pertaining to the Production Phase, including, but not limited to: Providing complete shop drawings (panel elements, structural elements, formwork, form change studies, Birdseye, stripping and yard handling studies to facilitate manufacturing, Ensuring purchasing of all required materials and forms, Design lifting hardware, loops, rigging, brackets, and inserts for stripping and handling forces, Provide and maintain a casting schedule, Perform quality checks, and Engage in start-up meetings with manufacturing, and remain engaged throughout each project's life cycle.
Field-related activities pertaining to the Erection Phase, including, but not limited to: Preparing crane studies, rigging diagrams, and the overall project erection plan as well as erection sequence, load lists, and diagrams, Coordinate shipping of miscellaneous metal, Coordinate field manpower requirements with Field & Trucking team to alignment to budget, Ensure fall protection plan is in place, Professionally represent the Company at the field erection site, and Inspect erection quality and performance to plan and budget.
General project management including, but not limited to: Project performance to contract specifications, budget, and time commitments, Issue identification, problem-solving, resolution, and escalation (as necessary), Coordinate necessary and requested procedure submittals (such as welding, grouting, post-tensioning, etc., Engage with internal resources throughout the Company to contribute, learn, and develop professionally.
Preferred Education and Experience
BS in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or an Engineering-related degree
EIT certification preferred

Train, coach, and develop team members on specific topics related to estimating and engineering
What a typical day looks like:
Review RFP/RFQ specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate in order bid to meet or exceed customer specification requirements.
Coordinate directly with customers regarding specification/design questions and clarifications.
Work with suppliers/vendors in obtaining pricing, including developing and maintain working files for estimate figures including information of prices from suppliers, price lists, etc.
Review Building Estimators work for any omissions or errors. Work with estimator to fix these and to help them understand what needs to be done in the future.
Prepare accurate, detailed, disciplined estimates, including developing scope of work, pricing, and labor schedules.
Design and draw select fabrication and assembly drawings for control buildings and/or control panels as required for submittal with the bid, depending on the scope of the project
Participate in process improvement initiatives to meet growth demands.
Participate in weekly meetings.
Run kick off meetings for projects as assigned by the department manager.
Research new procedures, proposals, and process improvements as we grow our operation.
Propose ideas and suggestions for areas of improvement to standardize and increase bid success rate.
Perform other related duties as assigned

Create closeout package for projects including As-builts, Closeout Binder, Notice of Completion (NOC), Certificate of Occupancy (C of O), and other required documents.
Work with the construction billing & accounting departments to close out the project by ensuring all final invoices are submitted, contracts are completed, and all project documentation is finalized.
Identify and address potential problems or delays, working closely with the CM, Superintendent and Subcontractor to find solutions in a timely manner.
Take responsibility for closing the bonds related to the project. Ensure all necessary documentation is submitted to release the bonds and that the project is fully closed out with all legal and financial obligations met.
Be ready to assist the superintendent with tasks that may fall outside of the Project Engineer's typical responsibilities. This includes providing support to ensure smooth daily operations, addressing issues as they arise, and helping to resolve any challenges on the construction site.

The Application Engineer will be responsible for collaborating with our engineering department, project managers, and business development team to prepare cost proposals for our relay panels and control enclosure manufacturing projects.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May be responsible in the hiring process of selecting personnel for the department
Train, coach, and develop team members on specific topics related to estimating and engineering
What a typical day looks like:
Review RFP/RFQ specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate in order bid to meet or exceed customer specification requirements.
Coordinate directly with customers regarding specification/design questions and clarifications.
Work with suppliers/vendors in obtaining pricing, including developing and maintain working files for estimate figures including information of prices from suppliers, price lists, etc.
Review Building Estimators work for any omissions or errors. Work with estimator to fix these and to help them understand what needs to be done in the future.
Prepare accurate, detailed, disciplined estimates, including developing scope of work, pricing, and labor schedules.
Design and draw select fabrication and assembly drawings for control buildings and/or control panels as required for submittal with the bid, depending on the scope of the project
Participate in process improvement initiatives to meet growth demands.
Participate in weekly meetings.
Run kick off meetings for projects as assigned by the department manager.
Research new procedures, proposals, and process improvements as we grow our operation.
Propose ideas and suggestions for areas of improvement to standardize and increase bid success rate.
Perform other related duties as assigned
