Responsibilities
What you will do:
* Serve as the lead designer for municipal airport engineering projects, applying sound judgment and technical expertise to deliver safe, cost-effective, and compliant solutions.
* Coordinate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and clear communication throughout all project phases.
* Prepare and certify construction documents, engineering reports, and design plans in accordance with FAA, state, and local standards.
* Conduct and oversee field investigations, site inspections, and construction observation to verify conformance with project specifications and quality standards.
* Utilize design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and modeling software to complete calculations, analyze data, and support project design.
* Support proposal development, project scoping, and cost estimating efforts under the guidance of senior engineers or project managers.

Qualifications
Education
* Bachelor's degree in an engineering field relevant to the job responsibilities.
Experience

What Success Looks Like:
Prepares R.F.E.'s for projects to implement new tools and equipment. The expectation for these projects can be large in nature and may be complex; they will have long term impacts to the operation of our business and provide gains in profitability.
Leads design estimation process, which includes determining the feasibility of design, estimates design times requirements, assembly, testing and project costs.
Determines and calculates financial justification for projects through labor savings, efficiency gains, scrap reduction, safety hazard elimination, etc. Financial analysis to include IRR and payback period.
Responsible for development of documentation necessary for manufacturability. This includes but is not limited to Bills of materials, Product Flow Charts, Part Drawings, Assembly Drawings, Schematic (Air, Lube, and Hydraulics) Piping Drawings and Orientation Drawings.
Communicates design intent to electrical engineering, ensuring electrical requirements are included in the design, and the product operates in the most efficient manner, without unnecessary complexity.
Manage total project activities with a plan for timely completion. The individual will be heavily involved in implementation teams and projects that have impact to the overall success of the organization.
Provide technical assistance to all company departments, as well as other divisions and customer(s).
What You Bring:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent experience to prove capabilities.
Minimum of two years' experience as a product/design/mechanical/manufacturing engineer or related engineering field.
Proficient in project management and communication skills.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess problems or issues with manufacturing equipment.
SolidWorks and other applicable engineering programs preferred
Ability to operate CAD system efficiently.

Days: 7am-3:30pm
The Product Engineer serves as a key technical resource supporting both new product development and existing product lines. This role requires strong attention to detail in design, documentation, and execution to ensure products meet performance, cost, and reliability goals throughout their lifecycle. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects thoughtfully, taking ownership and driving them to completion through sound engineering judgment and collaboration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide expert applications and technical support to internal and external customers regarding filtration performance, compatibility, installation, and troubleshooting.
Translate customer application needs (flow rate, pressure, contaminant type, efficiency, compatibility) into clear engineering specifications.
Create and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, and supporting documentation in accordance with company standards and industry best practices.
Conceptualize, design, prototype, and test filtration products including filter elements, housings, vessels, cartridges, and system components.
Plan and execute APQP activities for new products, including DFMEA, design verification, prototype evaluations, and launch readiness coordination with Manufacturing, Quality, and Suppliers.
Generate and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs), Routings, Items, and SKU data within the ERP system (Microsoft Business Central).
Lead design and development efforts for new and existing products, balancing function, manufacturability, cost, and quality requirements.
Conduct engineering analysis related to pressure drop, flow dynamics, structural integrity, thermal effects, and contaminant loading for filtration designs.
Create and maintain technical documentation including service bulletins, material specifications, product data sheets, drawings, and compliance documentation.
Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), deviations, and product updates through the full documentation and approval process.
Lead design reviews in product development programs and present recommendations based on test data, customer requirements, and regulatory considerations.
Drive continuous improvement in product design, performance, and cost efficiency.
Work independently to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple concurrent projects, maintaining progress with support from leadership as needed.

Minimal - Potential when supporting operations of alternate production locations.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.
3+ years of experience in product design, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical role preferred.
Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SOLIDWORKS) and an understanding of GD&T principles.
Experience managing projects through design, prototype, validation, and production release stages.
Strong understanding of manufacturability, materials, and assembly processes.
Experience with metal component manufacturing processes, including castings, stampings, and machining, with an understanding of their design considerations and tolerances.
Experience working within an ERP environment (Microsoft Business Central) to manage product data and revisions.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Demonstrated problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Motivated and able to work independently while using good judgement and a willingness to make decisions.
Physical Requirements
May require standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs. and 50 lbs. occasionally.
Work may occur in both office and manufacturing environments with exposure to shop conditions.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception., and ability to adjust focus.
