An active CompTIA Security+ certification or a higher-level DoD-approved security certification is required

Serco is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Combat Air Force (CAF) Distributed Training Center (DTC) at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia, working for the Distributed Mission Operations Network (DMON) Team based out of Orlando, Florida. The selected applicant will be well versed in all technical aspects of information systems, security policies, and compliance requirements in classified computing environments. The primary responsibility of the position is to support interoperability of CAF DTC Computer Generated Forces (CGF) systems and simulation support applications in DMON events by identifying configuration, networking, or CAF DMO standards issues. The Systems Engineer must be able to analyze, design and document changes to configurations, processes, and procedures for issue resolutions. Additionally, the applicant will support daily activities, operational and test events which requires schedule flexibility.
In this role, you will:
Operate and troubleshoot developed systems.
Document new and existing processes.
Monitor, control, and isolate problems in a data communications network.
Provide first and/or second-level problem determination and provide needed support.
Provide responsive quality customer service and support at all times for internal customers as well as external customers at the sites and DMON stakeholders.
Function as a member of the DTC System Admin and Information Assurance staff for problem escalation and resolution as required.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
One of the following:
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 5 years of technical experience.
Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of technical experience.
PhD in a STEM discipline.
Active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance with eligibility for Tier 1 access.
Meet DoD 8570 IAT II certification requirements (e.g. CompTIA Security+ CE).
Familiarity with network hardware including but not limited to Cisco switches, routers, boundary protection (firewalls, intrusion protection devices/intrusion detection devices, etc.) and various other network managed devices.
Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework.
Good understanding of network protocols.
Proficient in basic network troubleshooting.
Familiarity with Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS), High Level Architecture (HLA), and/or Test and Training Enabling Architecture (TENA) protocols.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Ability to travel as needed (up to 10% of the time) both domestically and internationally.

Summary/Objective:
Our Project Engineer - MEP will work with the Project Managers (PM's) and Project Manager Assistants (PMA's) to provide leadership for our Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel project. Our Project Engineers interact daily with the field crews, customers, vendors, and subcontractors. A Project Engineers main objective is to make sure that all of our team members have the correct information and resources to be successful.
Essential Functions:
* A Project Engineer maintains project tracking reports to monitor productivity and labor utilization
* Creates and maintain internal project schedules
* Prepares complete, accurate and timely submittals for construction projects based on project drawings, specifications, and vendor information
* Tracks and receives approved submittals from architect or engineer and coordinates with Project Team
* Assists Project Manager and other Project Engineers by preparing all necessary back up relating to change requests
* Completes of all required project close-out documents per contract
* Updates and distributes contract documents to subcontractors, including drawings, specifications, and general conditions
* Schedules all required construction meetings with the ACI Team, our subcontractors, vendors and customers

Review shipbuilder work packages, conduct photo documentation, develop databases allowing searches for key information in written correspondence.
Review drawings, Initial Change Proposals (ICP), Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), waterfront changes, work items, design reviews condition reports and trial cards.
Reviewing initial designs, developments, and analysis of new ships and/or ship systems.
Assist in the development of designs for current and conceptualized ships, systems, and equipment. Evaluate designs for feasibility.
Reviewing ECP packages for completeness and provide recommendations.
Assessing compliance with Naval regulatory and design standards.
Interfacing with stakeholders and cross functional teams to ensure necessary resources are available for ship/system.
Participating in Gas Turbine design meetings.
Reviewing qualification test procedures and participating in qualification testing and trials.
Researching new technology and/or development tools to remain informed of current technology.
Maintaining communications with SUPSHIP, NAVAIR and other commands, including laboratories and support contractors, in resolving technical issues impacting (or have potential to impact) the design or performance of the ship class.
