About the Team
Agility Robotics is building a small skunkworks team to execute product-focused R&D programs that explore and de-risk novel mechatronic concepts for our advanced bipedal multi-purpose robotic platform. About The Role
As a Senior or Staff Mechanical Robotics Engineer, you will work with experienced roboticists to design and create proof-of-concept electromechanical subsystems for the Digit robots. You will work closely with the innovation team to propose and scope concepts and projects; do initial analysis; design in CREO to bring initial concept development to prototyping, testing, and preparing for hand-off to the engineering organization for refinement into production. You will work with engineers across the organization, as we pull in specific expertise as needed for each project. You will lead rapid iteration and improvement through our technology development process to continuously innovate and advance our highly dynamic, human-centric, multi-purpose robot technology.
About The Work
Lead the design of prototype components, subsystems, and proofs-of-concept for technologies relevant to Digit, Agility's human-centric, multi-purpose robot. (e.g. actuator design, transmission, novel tendon transmission, arm and gripper prototype, Leg/foot prototype, BLDC motor design)
Develop requirements and concepts with representatives from multiple disciplines (electrical, mechanical, industrial design, software, test, manufacturing etc.)
Create subsystem CAD and ensure quality among other contributors

This position, Research Engineer or "RE" is responsible for providing leadership, management and technical support for shared facilities and equipment for analysis and fabrication of biological samples. The RE will oversee the operations of staffed and unstaffed shared facilities and equipment, provide consultation on the design and implementation of studies using the shared equipment, generate relevant operating procedures, and oversee health and safety in facilities and regarding the use of equipment. A core responsibility of this position is to oversee development and the operations of the Bioanalysis and Biofabrication core facility which combines biomolecular and cellular analysis along with bioprinting and microfluidic methods in support of bioengineering research. The RE will work closely with Knight Campus leadership, faculty advisory group and users to ensure that the facilities meet the needs of internal and external users, develop long-term business plans for sustaining the shared facilities, and build and sustain a strong internal and external user base. In addition, the RE will work with Knight Campus and UO facilities personnel on installation and infrastructure projects.

Minimum Requirements
⢠Bachelor's degree in bioengineering/biomedical engineering, material science engineering, materials science, physics, biophysics, biology, chemistry, or related field.

Job Purpose

About You
Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
2+ years of relevant experience in a commercial, product-driven manufacturing environment supporting a production line (robotics, automotive, aerospace, medical, or similar preferred).
Hands-on experience with assembly and testing of electro-mechanical systems (robotics experience is a plus).
Strong data analysis skills with experience in statistical methods; Lean Six Sigma exposure is a plus.
Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling; CREO experience a huge plus.
Engineering Change Order (ECO) experience within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system (Windchill experience a major plus).
Familiarity with ERP and MES software to manage inventory and production processes is a plus.
