The Project Engineer is responsible to help facilitate project delivery and administrative requirements related to planning, management, and communication through effective day-to-day administration and coordination of projects. Works closely with the Project Managers, Site Manager, and other project team members, including clients, in support of the success of the project. Project Engineers are generally based on the project site.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist the Project Manager with keeping the project software system up to date in terms of drawings, schedules, submittals, RFIs, daily reports, etc.
When required, assist in the bid process by ensuring the proper bid documents are sent to bidders and maintaining the bidders list.
Support the management of the day-to-day project including, but not limited to, responding to/reviewing pay requests, change orders, RFIs, submittals, contracts, and purchase orders
Create and maintain the Contract Document Log and update with current information.
Maintain current construction documents.
Review submittals and maintain the submittal log.
Receive and process RFIs from contractors and maintain the RFI log.
Assist the Project Manager in updating the project schedule
Organizing and publishing the Weekly Work Plan
Attend project meetings and ensure that meeting agendas and meeting minutes are properly produced and distributed; this may require initiating and organizing specific meetings with the appropriate attendees
Assist the Site Manage with the implementation and documentation of the QA/QC program
Assist with compilation of project close out/operation and maintenance documents
Develop industry relationships and expand professional networks that will help H&M s Business Development efforts
Project Engineer Requirements & Qualifications:
A degree in a Construction or Engineering program or related field is preferred
Ability to move from job location to job location for a minimum of a 3 year period
Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a project office and construction site, to move up and down stairs, and to stand for prolonged periods of time.
Communicate in person, on the phone, and over e-mail with clients, vendors, permitting officials, and others and exchange accurate information in these situations.
Purpose:
The Project Engineer position is considered an entry level position at H&M that also allows an individual to determine interest in future roles as a PM, SM, Estimator, Engineer, or in a role in one of H&M s self-perform companies. + Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of large pumps and associated systems such as high volume/low head circulating water pumps, multi-stage vertical pit pumps, multi-stage high head boiler feed pumps, and other simpler pump applications.
+ Knowledge and experience in performing vibration analysis on typical equipment used at a power plant.
+ Experienced in collecting and analyzing thermography data on collected electrical as well as mechanical equipment and use analysis results to provide recommendations to repair/maintain plant equipment.
+ Knowledge and experience in oil analysis, which includes lubricating oils used in power plant equipment, such as turbines, gearboxes, fluid drives and transformers.
+ Must be able to collect and analyze motor current data and use the analysis results to provide recommendations to repair/maintain motors.
+ Experience in rotating equipment balancing, which includes in situ balancing as well as component balancing using a balance stand.
**BOP:**
+ Knowledge of the concepts, construction, and operation of the turbine process steam cycle as it relates to a fossil steam power plant including basic thermodynamics.
+ Experience in maintenance and operation of all plant air supply systems, including station air, instrument air, and sootblowing air where applicable.
+ Knowledge and experience of service water systems, including low pressure systems, high pressure systems, closed cooling water systems, domestic (potable) water systems and circulating water systems.
+ Experience in the operation and maintenance of various fire protection systems used at a power plant.
+ Knowledge and experience in facilities management, which includes station heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and building envelope repairs.

Lead or support the selection and implementation of automation equipment and processes to increase output and reduce costs.
Provide technical support for manufacturing plants, including machine troubleshooting and expertise in fabrication techniques such as cutting, punching, welding, and painting.
Analyze reports and collect data to recommend changes in methods, tooling, or equipment for increased productivity, quality improvement, or cost reduction.
Work closely with Plant Supervision at all levels to propose improvement projects, assess feasibility, and provide data for informed decision-making.
Collaborate with vendors to determine equipment specifications and facilitate equipment purchases to enhance production capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
Three years experience as a manufacturing or process engineer in an industrial manufacturing setting (preferred).
Hands-on experience and knowledge of metal cutting, forming, and welding processes (robotic experience is a plus).
Familiarity with AutoCAD or other design software.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing methods and concepts.
Demonstrated knowledge of equipment controls/PLC; automation/robotics experience is desired.
