Among engineers, we discovered that 14.9% of them are women, while 78.7% are men. The most common race/ethnicity among engineers is White, which makes up 73.6% of all engineers. Comparatively, there are 13.5% of the Asian ethnicity and 7.8% of the Hispanic or Latino ethnicity. The majority of engineers are located in TX, Houston and NY, New York.
Engineers are more likely to work at public companies in comparison to private companies. Taking it a step further, engineers are more likely to find a job in the technology industry. Looking at engineer statistics, we found was that California, Washington, Maine, Arizona and Alaska are where engineers find the highest salaries.
From where do we know all information about engineer demographics? We analyzed 71,868 engineers resumes to find out what the average demographics are for the job position. Just to be clear, by demographics we mean the study of population-based factors like age, race, and sex. On top of scouring through resumes, we also took note of job proposals from employers and Census Bureau data. And guess what? We found some pretty interesting information.
