Role Overview: This role supports daily production operations by troubleshooting and maintaining DeltaV DCS and Allen Bradley PLC systems, assisting with instrumentation and electrical needs, and monitoring automation system health to identify improvement opportunities. Additional responsibilities include supporting equipment validation, maintaining control system documentation, advancing equipment safety, and managing the OT network. Our Philadelphia, PA office has an exciting opportunity for a Construction Field Engineer to join our team! This position offers the opportunity to engage on a multi-year construction project, as well as support additional construction related projects in the Philadelphia area. This position will be based out of the Brown and Caldwell office in Philadelphia, PA but will include part-to-full time site presence on ongoing construction projects. The candidate will require effective communication skills and knowledge of the engineering, construction and commissioning phases of projects utilizing traditional project delivery platforms. Procurement Engineer: As a key member of the Kulicke & Soffa Global Supply Chain and Product Development teams, the Procurement Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing procurement and sourcing strategies that align with equipment development objectives. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of engineering drawings and the ability to interpret technical specifications. The primary focus will be to provide cost and schedule constraints to the program team and implement supply chain solutions that meet program goals. Education & Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably in machinery, motion systems, or optics. Strong working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), particularly in motion and optical systems. Proficiency in data management using tools such as Python or Excel; experience with Artificial Intelligence applications is a plus. Duties will include: End-to-End Procurement Management: Lead sourcing activities for assigned modules and programs from supplier selection through to warehouse receipt, applying lean and agile principles to meet Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Time to Market (TTM), and product reliability targets. Specification Analysis & Solution Development: Review new product specifications to identify cost and lead time drivers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement optimal sourcing strategies that align with engineering program requirements and drive projects to completion. Supplier Negotiation & Risk Mitigation: Conduct supplier negotiations on pricing, terms and conditions. Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks throughout the product lifecycle. Bill of Materials (BoM) Review: Analyze BoMs from a demand generation perspective, identify supply chain gaps, and escalate issues to appropriate stakeholders for resolution. Cost Modeling & Market Intelligence: Partner with engineering, and commodity teams to develop "should-cost" models and provide market-based pricing for raw materials and commercial components. Quotation & Documentation Management: Manage production quotations, maintain procurement documentation, and ensure timely updates to cost databases. Factory Collaboration: Work closely with Singapore factory teams to analyze lead times, identify critical path components, and prioritize procurement activities to support production schedules. Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, value-added relationships with local U.S. suppliers and internal team members to ensure alignment and collaboration. Cost Tracking & Reporting: Develop and maintain cost roadmaps and perform cost roll-ups for assigned projects to support budgeting and financial planning.

Provide engineering support for customers, internal staff, and sales engineers at Gibson or at customer locations for both engineered solutions or technical products. Provide customer education one to one, to a small group, or in a classroom environment as a subject matter expert. Regularly perform vision application evaluations consistency with deliverables provided by the vision application engineers at Gibson Engineering. Understand importance of commercial opportunities, track open projects, and effectively adjust priorities and independently manage time when not otherwise advised by management. Other Duties and Responsibilities Support turnkey engineering projects pre and post sales including concept development, programming, testing, debugging, or commissioning value-added jobs when necessary. Provide general technical support and guidance to sales engineers, customers, and other internal co-workers when requested. Monitor and participate in tech support email and hotline requests as required. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline or 3-5 years in a technical or engineering support role. Strong computer skills (email, word processing, spreadsheets) Familiarity with industrial control systems, including but not limited to PLC, HMI, Machine Vision, and motion control products, is a plus. Working knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD systems and the ability to read electrical schematics and understand mechanical drawings, is a plus Work will require travel to customer locations throughout the northeast.
