YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:
This role carries responsibility for management-level issue expediting, field technical support, startup technical support and commissioning technical oversight. This individual is intended to be the Project Manager's technical representative as well as a technical resource for the QC Managers and Site Superintendents.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Design and develop intra-switchgear and inter-equipment control systems
Design and develop site-wide Sequence of Operation (SOO)
Conduct vendor coordination and submittal review and factory witness test to ensure equipment are produced to spec and conform with all design-build requirement
Design and develop safety mechanical, electrical, and or electromechanical interlock systems
Design and develop system wide automation systems using PLC or RTAC style industrial controllers, including but not limited to: System overload prevention, multi purpose busway interlocks, load management systems, generator plant load curtailment systems, Gen plant start and load controls including selective load pickup and load shed schemes, etc.
Design and develop SEL/ABB/Siemens relay protection and logic settings such as MTM transfer schemes using mirrored bit communication or hardwire
Design and develop SEL/ABB/Siemens relay IEC61850 based protection and control logics
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Understanding on power system and provide power system failure analysis, event analysis or SOE analysis and or develop a metering / triggering system to conduct such analysis.
Understanding of electrical power systems including generators, transformers, motors, automated switch gear, protective relays, UPS systems, DRUPS systems, motor-generator sets, battery storage systems, inverters, PV systems, wind turbines, substation equipment etc.
Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position
Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

* Build cross functional relationships and have the capacity to influence policies and procedures to improve global data center operations

Summary
The Project Engineer supports field activities and spends a majority of time working with the Project Manager supporting project administration on multiple small projects, or one medium to large-size projects. * Reviews and confirms reports documenting compliance (Company and subcontractors) with prevailing wage, workforce utilization, MBE/SBE participation, etc., and advises the Project Manager of issues
* Interfaces with Safety and Risk Management in establishing clinics, managing first report of injuries, and assisting with co-worker case management
* Follows Company Recruitment and Hiring Guidelines
* May conduct new-hire orientation and process E-Verify (must be certified)
* May coordinate tracking and completion of training requirements with project management
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years' of experience or 6 years' of construction related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Lilly is currently constructing an advanced manufacturing facility for production of API (active pharmaceutical ingredient) molecules located in Lebanon, IN. This facility is Lilly's largest investment in manufacturing capacity and is intended to provide APIs for current and future products, including new modalities. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the startup team for a greenfield manufacturing site, and the successful candidate will help to build the processes and facility to enable a successful startup into GMP manufacturing operations.
The Utility Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the technical and administrative leadership of utility engineers at the Lebanon Plant API manufacturing site. The role is responsible for maintaining the site's utilities infrastructure and systems to a state of compliance. It must ensure that infrastructure is fit for use when needed, maintenance and reliability techniques are efficient and effective, and appropriate corrective and improvement actions are taken when necessary. In the project delivery phase and startup phase of the project (startup expected 2025 to 2027), leadership roles will be fluid and dynamic as we endeavor to support the project delivery, build a new organization, develop and implement the necessary systems and business processes required to support GMP operations, and build the site culture. This will require significant collaboration, creativity and resilience as the site grows to a full scale GMP manufacturing through start up.
Key Responsibilities:
Utility Engineering:
* Build deep technical engineering expertise and capability over the following areas:
* Central Utilities, to include Steam, Chilled Water, Tower Water, Compressed Air, Water Pre-Treatment, and Boiler Feedwater.
* Manufacturing Critical Utilities, to include Purified Water, Glycol, and Heat Transfer Fluids.
* Responsible for all systems under their responsibility (GMP And Non-GMP Utilities and ancillary systems) and understanding their applications in pharmaceutical manufacturing, trending critical process parameters and awareness of industry standards and trends.
* Ensure compliance related activities such as deviations, change controls and CAPA's are resolved and implemented in conjunction with other teams.
* Ensure the assigned systems and processes are aligned with external regulations and industry / Lilly standards and best practices.
* Lead and participate as required in teams, committees, or other groups and/or individually to achieve the departmental, site and/or company goals.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

This role carries responsibility for management-level issue expediting, field technical support, startup technical support and commissioning technical oversight. Conduct vendor coordination and submittal review and factory witness test to ensure equipment are produced to spec and conform with all design-build requirement

Design and develop system wide automation systems using PLC or RTAC style industrial controllers, including but not limited to: System overload prevention, multi purpose busway interlocks, load management systems, generator plant load curtailment systems, Gen plant start and load controls including selective load pickup and load shed schemes, etc.
Design and develop SEL/ABB/Siemens relay protection and logic settings such as MTM transfer schemes using mirrored bit communication or hardwire
Design and develop SEL/ABB/Siemens relay IEC61850 based protection and control logics
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Understanding on power system and provide power system failure analysis, event analysis or SOE analysis and or develop a metering / triggering system to conduct such analysis.
Understanding of electrical power systems including generators, transformers, motors, automated switch gear, protective relays, UPS systems, DRUPS systems, motor-generator sets, battery storage systems, inverters, PV systems, wind turbines, substation equipment etc.
Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred
