What Your Job Will Be Like We are seeking a R&D S&E, Systems Engineer who will blend engineering, analytics, and problem-solving to understand how complex manufacturing operations work and then design ways to make them safer, faster, and smarter. The selected candidate will build models, run simulations, analyze data, and work directly on production floors to uncover opportunities for improvement. The selected candidate will also collaborate closely with world-class experts and contribute to facility redesigns and strategic modernization efforts across the Nuclear Security Enterprise. This role involves solving difficult problems, working with high-impact systems, and using tools like Power Bi, Python, simulation software, and optimization to guide decisions to increase productivity. IMLVS works in a high-consequence operational envelope encompassing classified materials, precious metals, closed areas, chemicals, explosives, and radioactive materials. The organization is responsible for assuring the integrity and traceability of weapons material though the logistics supply chain which includes receiving, incoming acceptance, warehousing, inventory management, material movement and shipping. IMLVS is responsible for the design, development, testing, and delivery of Department of Transportation (DOT) compliant packaging solutions, operations engineering and planning for the build of packaging kits and NG disassembly activities, and oversees the planning, coordination and execution of outbound customer shipments.
