About this Position
Develop and maintain OSU Stillwater campus domestic water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer models using modeling software. Be a project manager and perform design work on campus domestic water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer distribution systems, and review drawings and applications from outside sources to determine acceptability with OSU specifications. Develop OSU design guidelines for domestic water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems.
Provide guidance on established engineering practice's, procedures and technical direction to other engineers as needed. Strong analytical skills and the ability to pay meticulous attention to detail is required. Must demonstrate solid professional ethics and possess a sound capacity to follow through on tasks.
Due to communication expectations of the position, the incumbent will be required to maintain a personal cell phone and will be required to be continually available both during and after normal working hours. Must work safely, adhere to all safety requirements, and promote a safe work environment. Work conditions include exposure to construction areas, laboratory areas, industrial plants, and mechanical rooms - of which all could be deemed hazardous. Work takes place both in an office and in the field.
Employee must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (gloves, safety glasses, etc.) These items are provided and not for personal use. Requires periodic travel throughout the OSU Stillwater campus: to job sites for training, classes, and meetings, and occasionally off campus to vendors, manufacturing facilities, conferences, and other universities. Constantly positions self to fulfill the duties of the position, which include work on the underground or above-ground electrical utility distribution systems. Construction sites may include exposure to hazardous materials and systems, including - high voltage equipment, steam and high-temperature water, open mechanical and rotating equipment, high air pressure, open trenches, areas of friable asbestos, and occasional work from ladders or heights; and processes that contain hazardous chemicals, biohazard, and radioactive products.
Exposed to extreme heat and cold, working around hazardous equipment. Outside in all types of inclement weather, high levels of dust and noise. This position is heavy in manual labor and requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally. Utilities Engineer Sr - will require 10 years of work experience in the practical application of engineering principles.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
Utilities Engineer I - will require an Engineer in training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification upon hire and/or an endorsement from a current PE.
Utilities Engineer II - will require an Engineer in training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification upon hire.
Utilities Engineer III - will require a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Oklahoma or PE license in another state and able to gain registration through reciprocity within one year of hire.

Have before hire and maintain after hire, a valid driver's license. A valid driver's license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned.
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Professional and Scientific Positions.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
A. Degree: Professional Engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience: College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following:
1. Professional Registration: Current registration as a professional engineer by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions that are within or closely related to the specialty field of their registration. For example, an applicant who attains registration through a State Board's eminence provision as a manufacturing engineer typically would be rated eligible only for manufacturing engineering positions.

2. Written Test: Evidence of having successfully passed the Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination, or the written test required for professional registration, which is administered by the Boards of Engineering Examiners in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico.

Specified Academic Courses: Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
GS-12: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11. Examples of specialized experience include management and directing of assigned IT systems and programs for complex programs and/or projects.
GS-13: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12. Examples of specialized experience include identifying, preparing and presenting detailed technical reports and briefings on new concepts and technical directions impacting programs/projects, and defining future technology requirements.

* Knowledge of computer engineering policies, theories, principles and concepts, and familiarity with other engineering disciplines.
* Knowledge of automated data processing concepts, systems capabilities, and measurements processes to effectively accomplish assigned functions.
* Ability to analyze, evaluate, and applies rules, regulations, and procedures in a variety of situations.
* Ability to plan and organize work and coordinate with other engineering disciplines; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and maintain good working relations.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

About the Role
Crossland is seeking college construction graduates for this entry-level salaried position required prior to becoming a Craft Superintendent, Superintendent, or Project Engineer. The primary goal of a Field Engineer is to gain knowledge on how projects are built and managed by Crossland field personnel. The Field Engineer will spend the majority of their time in the field assisting with the day to day operations and putting work in place. Essential Responsibilities:
Plan and monitor jobsite safety.

Gathering of quantities for work in place and reporting cost control meetings and pay applications.

About the Role
Crossland is seeking college construction graduates for this entry-level salaried position required prior to becoming a Craft Superintendent, Superintendent, or Project Engineer. The primary goal of a Field Engineer is to gain knowledge on how projects are built and managed by Crossland field personnel. The Field Engineer will spend the majority of their time in the field assisting with the day to day operations and putting work in place. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.

This employee: Designs production equipment and plans production facilities (including workflow); conducts studies of methods, cost control, cost reduction, and other engineering/economic concerns; applies approved manufacturing engineering methods to improve performance, reduce waste and delays, and promote cost reduction and efficiency. They also perform other duties as assigned.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
Design equipment used to assemble and manufacture products. This includes all assembly tooling, machines used to assemble and test equipment, and other related machinery.
Review current product designs and recommend modifications that minimize costs and effectively apply production capabilities.
During the design of new products, review product designs, determine manufacturing methods and recommend modifications to ensure and improve manufacturability.
Analyze costs of new parts and products to establish preliminary standard production costs.
Coordinate new part/product manufacturing introductions. This includes establishing:
Routings for parts, weldments and assemblies.
Requirements for jigs, fixtures, and tooling.
Assembly methods, fixtures, and procedures.
Quality assurance, including required gauging and process controls.
Research, organize, analyze and maintain records of technical information from a variety of sources.
Recommend changes in parts specifications, manufacturing processes, and production methods to improve quality, economy, efficiency, and manufacturability.
Prepare feasibility studies to support equipment purchases, make/buy decisions, etc.
Perform time studies and analyze data to improve flow of product and material through Manufacturing and Assembly.
Analyze plant layout and coordinate changes to accomplish lean production goals.
Perform Value Analysis engineering activities.
Prepare presentations and present information to individuals and groups.
Through behavior and communication, maintain positive relationships with customers, clients, supervisors, and co-workers.
Meet or exceed typical expectations for engineering competence, productivity, creativity, and safety.
What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
Bachelors of Engineering degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or related field.
Engineer I-0-2 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
Engineer II-2-4 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of heavy machinery manufacturing processes.
Knowledge or experience with tool and/or equipment design and drafting using Solid Modeling/CAD.
Have a good work record, including indications of strong self-motivation, high productivity, reliable attendance, attention to quality, ability to learn new skills, and a cordial, cooperative personality.
Preferred experience:
Experience using SAP
Knowledge of TOC, and Lean methods used in manufacturing processes is a plus.

Competitive Salary
- The pay range takes into account skills, experience, education, and location. It is not common to be hired at or near the top of the range; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between $66900 - $97000. Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package. You may be eligible to participate in an incentive program, which rewards employees based on individual and organizational performance.
