Cirrus Aircraft is currently hiring an Aircraft Systems Engineer focused on Mechanical Systems. An engineer in this role is responsible for design, development, integration, and certification with systems such as wheels, brakes, tires, landing gear, complex mechanisms and sheet metal along with structural strength of these systems on both the SR and SF platforms as well as new projects. Candidates will also be responsible for coordinating and leading development and system integration work with subcontractors and external suppliers.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
* Technical areas of responsibility include:
* Requirements, Design, Traceability, and Installation of on-aircraft equipment working with multi-disciplinary team.
* Ensure system requirements comply with Part 23, ASTMs, and other regulatory, industry requirements, or MIL standards.
* Complete project assignments and takes responsibility for designs and design outcomes.
* Integration Test definition (requirements-based testing), execution, and troubleshooting both for on aircraft and bench level testing. Validating performance and supporting certification.
* Interface and collaborate with various aircraft disciplines (structural, electrical, flight-test, etc.) on both current and new Cirrus Aircraft platforms.
* Perform system analysis and modeling such as: Thermal/Heat Transfer Analysis, Flow/Pressure Drop Analysis, Component Sizing Analysis (Fan, Pump, Heat Exchanger, Valves), and Control System Architecture & Analysis.
* Perform trade studies involving weight, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
* Active involvement in development and certification of aircraft systems under FAR Part 23 or Part 25.
* Research industry guidance documents for best practices, e.g. SAE.
* Support technical publications by providing source data and reviewing publications such as: system operating manuals, maintenance manuals, instructions for continued airworthiness
* Support periodic travel for Technical Interchange Meetings, Program Reviews, Testing, and Aircraft Field Support.
* Interpret and use aircraft technical documentation such as: system schematics, mechanical drawings, electrical drawings, aircraft technical publications, Standards (14CFR, MIL, SAE, ASTM, RTCA, etc.)
* Participates in personal and department's continuous improvement activities.
* Anticipates projects tasks. Provides guidance and task to junior engineers.

This position is responsible for development of new roadway design standards as well as helping regional staff with technical challenges when standards cannot be met. This position works closely with all Statewide Bureaus to make sure policy updates are in alignment with their needs. This position works with federal and state agencies, contractors, consultants, municipalities, suppliers, associations and vendors to make sure department policies lead to efficient, economical and safe roadway designs throughout the state. This position will also work with other state DOT's, universities, and research organizations around the country to learn about new and best practices for roadway design.
This position will make updates to the roadway design procedures in Chapter 11 - Design of the Facilities Design Manual (FDM) as well as help with updates to other chapters in the FDM. As a Nuclear Reactors Engineer, youll be responsible for researching, designing, maintaining, operating and regulating the nuclear reactors and power plants that drive the most advanced fleet of submarines and aircraft carriers on Earth. RESPONSIBILITIES
Naval Reactors Engineers have oversight of the Navy's entire fleet of nuclear-powered ships as well as shore-based prototypes and nuclear propulsion support facilities for Americas Navy. The wide array of technical areas involved in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion program include:

- Leads testing and startup team for basic to moderately complex instrumentation, controls and related systems independently with minimal supervision. Responsible for testing and startup documentation completion and quality assurance filing.
- Independently develops basic to highly complex operations & Maintenance manuals for designed instrumentation, controls and related systems.
- Independently develops systems training for end users.
- Leads teams of more junior staff and provides direction and mentoring. Reviews the work of junior staff as necessary.
