He/she applies experience and advanced knowledge of aerospace engineering principles and tools to analyze and conduct efficiency evaluations of space transportation activities. Evaluates procedural process changes for launch and reentry operations to assess impact on NAS operations.
Contacts are internal and external and include representatives from other FAA lines of business and government agencies such as the Department of Defense and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. He/she may act as a key technical point of contact for assigned activities and contributes to the preparation of management/technical reports or contractual documents. He/she may be called upon to communicate the overall results of a project or work activity to FAA management, the aviation and aerospace industries, andother external parties.

Job Overview
Chugach is seeking a Systems Engineer to serve in an interdisciplinary oversight role for the Coastal Sentinel program. This position is Washington D.C. The primary role for the Systems Engineer is providing systems engineering leadership across program workstreams, with an emphasis on technical integration, digital engineering fundamentals, and cyber-aware system design.
Salary Range: $175,000 - $210,000

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
* Provide interdisciplinary systems engineering oversight across all Coastal Sentinel program workstreams.
* Apply systems engineering principles to support technical integration and alignment across program components.
* Support and guide systems engineering processes to ensure effective coordination among stakeholders.
* Incorporate digital engineering fundamentals into system planning, analysis, and decision-making.
* Promote cyber-aware system design considerations throughout the program lifecycle.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support program execution and technical coherence
* Identifying and assisting with resolution of cross-cutting technical risks, dependencies, and integration challenges.
Accountable For:
* Ability to support systems engineering integration and technical coherence across the Coastal Sentinel program.
* Ability to provide systems engineering support and technical input to government and program leadership.
* Ability to apply systems engineering processes and best practices across multiple program workstreams.
* Ability to support the application of digital engineering fundamentals throughout the system lifecycle.
* Ability to consider cyber security implications in system design and technical analyses.
* Ability to collaborate with government, contractor, and partner teams to support program goals and deliverables.
* Ability to communicate technical information clearly to support informed program decisions.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
* U.S. citizen.
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
* Active Secret security clearance.
* 5-10 years of experience applying systems engineering processes and discipline across complex programs.
* Knowledge of core systems engineering practices, including requirements development, trade studies, interface management, and lifecycle processes.
* Familiarity with digital engineering fundamentals ( e.g., model-based approaches, digital artifacts).
* Genral awareness of cyber security considerations as they relate to system design and integration.
* Experience with networked or hardware-based systems.
* Willingness to work onsite a minimum of 2 days per week (3 days preferred), with increased onsite presence during early program phases and flexibility for hybrid work thereafter.
* Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
Preferred:
* Master's degree in Systems Engineering.
* TS/SCI security clearance.
* DoD or DHS experience is not required; candidates with diverse backgrounds and outside perspectives are encouraged to apply.
Working Conditions:
* Hybrid work environment with a minimum of 2 days per week onsite at the customer's headquarters; 3 days onsite preferred.
* Increased onsite presence may be required during early phases of the program, with greater flexibility for hybrid work as the program matures.
* Work is primarily performed in a professional office setting, with routine use of standard office equipment and collaboration tools.
* Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
* Travel is minimal and expected to be infrequent.

Responsibilities:
Provide Systems Engineering and Technical Support to the Identity Credential and Access Management (ICAM) for Zero Trust Implementation. The candidate must have the ability to understand and work with technologies including REST, Oracle/MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, JSON, XML, Docker, AWS, Nifi, Single Sign-On (OAuth and SAML) and Kubernetes. The candidate is expected to provide technical expertise in industry, federal, and DoD standards/policies as well as create and maintain ICAM for Zero Trust documentation to include release notes, installation and user guides, frameworks, SOPs, and plans in accordance with Zero Trust mandates. Other duties include research of technical topics, identification of improvement areas, hands-on understanding of how to configure system components and generating advisory documentation to support ICAM installation and planning. The candidate will also work with existing ICAM capability teams to develop architecture and design documentation, perform technology assessments, develop or contribute to strategy and planning documents and support risk mitigation assessments.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. 5 years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree for a total of 12 years.
Strong experience with the listed technologies, with a specific focus on REST protocol and REST service design.
