RT&T, a joint venture of InDyne, Inc. and Amentum Services, Inc. is the prime contractor to support the Atlantic Range Technical Support Services (ARTSS) for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) headquartered in Patuxent River, MD, and with locations in Maryland, Virginia, and California.

ARTSS supports Atlantic Test Ranges (ATR) and Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations (ATMO) in research and development, engineering, maintenance, operation, support of facilities, systems, and equipment in order to meet the engineering development and operational testing and fleet training missions for some of the world’s premier systems. Assists senior level engineering technicians in the operation and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment in support of the Range Operations Branch's Test Communication team.

The Test Communications Branch provides test communications support to all of the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) activities, including the operation and maintenance of microwave, fiber optic, satellite and terrestrial communications systems, UHF/VHF/HF voice and data communication links, command/control/flight termination systems, Ethernet and SONET network, radio frequency management, and monitoring and interference control. Test Communications also provides security support for the ATR facility by maintaining ATR's System Security Accreditation Authority (SSAA) Account, COMSEC Account, and physical security to the ATR facility
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Performs basic engineering technician principles and techniques under the direct and close supervision of experienced engineering technicians to develop the basic knowledge and skills required to be a qualified engineering technician.
Educational/Training Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent Minimum part-time enrollment in an Engineering/Electronics Technician AA/AS degree or related curriculum from an accredited college or university
Required Skills/Experience:
Upon receipt of an AA/AS degree and successful completion of the on-the-job training program, the Engineering Aide/Laborer may qualify as an Engineering Technician. Position Overview:

SDOT's Transportation Operations Division (TOD) is looking to hire an Engineering Aide. This position will support Traffic Data and Records by updating and maintaining various data sets. The Engineering Aide will create and analyze collision record data; verify sources for accuracy, and correct data where necessary; create and close work orders by updating asset data, analyze various datasets and create reports for public disclosure; maintain Hansen asset data; combine and rearrange data from multiple sources where required and transfer that data to others for input to databases. Data will come from multiple sources including third party Application Programming Interface/dashboards (API's), engineering plans, engineering documents, and reports. In addition, the position may support entering traffic data into data bases, logs, and other recording means, to support ready access to the most current data. Several SDOT Divisions, including TOD, rely on this data to support delivery of Move Seattle Levy and other programs/projects. The Engineering Aide will report to Traffic Data & Records Lead.

Job Responsibilities

* Code traffic collisions to Hansen 8 and analyze data for reporting.
* Maintain sign and pay station data in Hansen 8 through transposing completed work orders.
* Revise Hansen 8 lane/asset data, and maintain element changes, deletions, or additions, as needed.
* Make updates as needed to Hansen streets and intersections.
* Retrieve data and maintain bike counters in field; analyze data, provide metrics, and produce reports.
* Assist with the upload and verification of data from a variety of traffic counting devices.
* Assist in duties for traffic counts group which include uploading volume traffic counts.
* Revise GIS maps, and maintain data element changes, deletions, or additions, as needed.
* Assist in the design and preparation of data visualizations and reports.
* Support department goals in promoting diversity and social justice.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Satisfactory completion of high school mathematics including trigonometry (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).
* Current State of Washington driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility.

Successful candidates will possess many of these additional qualifications or be able to demonstrate comparable experience and expertise:

* Civil engineering education and/or experience, preferred.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Access and Excel to review, analyze, and present data.
* Experience with GIS (i.e. ArcGIS) to read and interpret maps.
* Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent visualization applications.
* Effectively work in a multi-cultural workplace with a diverse customer base.
