About Manufacturing Engineering at SIGI Southworth International Group, Inc. (SIGI) is the world's largest manufacturer of ergonomic material handling equipment and container handling equipment for vertical lifting and work positioning. The instructions are technical in nature but are to be used by non-technical consumers such as a VIP passenger or cabin crew. This candidate will create multi-media instructions for a new aircraft system. The candidate will apply their experience gained in creating content to organize existing content into re-usable modules. Experience gained: technical writing with layout optimization and aesthetics, multi-media production, project management, data continuity, various authoring software tools. ORGANIZATION Under general supervision of the Lead Engineer or Engineering Supervisor, the Engineering Technician can help Public Services with inspecting private development and related site work to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and all applicable standards, codes, policies, rules, regulations, and laws. This position reports to the Sr. Quality and Ballistics and Quality Manger and is based out of our Lonoke, AR office. **What you'll do:** + Be able to learn and understand the manufacturing processes of ammunition and how quality pertains to ammunition manufacturing. + Perform machine/process capability studies to determine the validity of process parameters and identify areas or potential improvements, to include implementing improvements under the guidance of an Area Quality Engineer. + Develop and improve Quality Inspection Documents so that quality inspections are clearly defined to the production areas. + Be able to learn ISO 9001:2015 requirements and assist as an ISO Internal Quality Auditor in at least three quality audits within the manufacturing plant. + Develop, review, and improve gage systems to maximize the inspection effectiveness to improve inspection efficiency and reduce operator measurement error. + Learn the ballistic testing of ammunition and ammunition components in how it pertains to the manufacturing of ammunition to determine if the ammunition is conforming to specific requirements. **Experience you bring:** + Three years of college, or within one year of graduating with a bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or mathematics/statistics discipline. + 0-2 Years of experience with solving problems using data and analysis **You might have:** + Strong mechanical skills + Knowledge in statistical analysis in being able to apply to manufacturing processes. **Additional Information:** + Shift: Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm + Summer Internship: May-August **Got questions?** **We've got answers!** Explore our FAQ Page: ***************************************************** **Work Environment:** Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Review HMI, P&IDs and control narratives for consistency and identify gaps. Review Network IP Address scheme and documentation. Ensure no duplication or clerical errors. Job Description This is a 2026 summer internship in our Engineering department. The intern will create instructions of use for aircraft passenger systems / installations. The instructions are technical in nature but are to be used by non-technical consumers such as a VIP passenger or cabin crew. This candidate will create multi-media instructions for a new aircraft system. The candidate will apply their experience gained in creating content to organize existing content into re-usable modules. Experience gained: technical writing with layout optimization and aesthetics, multi-media production, project management, data continuity, various authoring software tools. PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS): Understand the technical design and human interface for various components of the aircraft cabin. Create technical use instructions in non-technical language so that a VIP or cabin crew member may be able to fully utilize aircraft passenger systems and installations. Create animations and/or videos to augment instructional text. Identify Cabin Guide content components that may be linked to design data based on engineering part numbers. Create reusable media templates for Cabin Guide content creation. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Technical aptitude. Strong communication skills. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator Familiar with Adobe FrameMaker Must be currently enroll in an accredited college or university and must reside in the United States.
