The Engineering Specialist applies broad professional knowledge of engineering principles to solve complex technical challenges and ensure compliance with federal construction standards to meet specific client needs. Work is performed independently under limited supervision, requiring initiative, sound engineering judgement, and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders including contractors, government clients, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Job Duties:
- Serve as the technical liaison between federal government client design branch, construction branch, and contractors.
- Review design submittals, shop drawings, specifications, RFIs, and technical reports for compliance with Federal and client specific standards.
- Apply engineering principles and relevant codes across planning, investigation, design review, construction administration, , and assessment of engineering procedures, structures, systems, and tools
- Monitors progress and prepares technical reports and/or project status reports.
- Provide engineering judgment for field modifications, non-conformance issues, value engineering proposals, and constructability reviews.
- Complies with guidelines and regulations including permitting, safety protocols, environmental requirements, etc. and delivers technical files and other technical documentation as required.
- Assist in the development of cost estimates and supporting analysis in coordination with government cost estimators and contracting officers.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings, progress reviews, and project closeout/punchlist activities.
- Conduct or assists in quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Develops, trains, mentors junior engineering staff while guiding technical direction and best practices.
- Develop and maintain client relationships through responsive communication and strong technical support. Serves as a liaison with clients.

JOB DUTIES: This working position is responsible for the Waste/Wastewater Treatment Plant at a Correctional Institution both in operations and maintenance. This position also instructs inmates in the special skills necessary to operate a Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant through an apprentice on-the-job training program designed to develop experience and skills necessary to assume and fulfill the position of Operator of a water or sewer utility. * Operates and maintains Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment Plants in compliance with DEP permits and regulations. * Conducts preventive maintenance for both plants, orders, and stocks necessary chemicals. * Repairs breakdowns at the operator level and troubleshoots specialized equipment such as compressors, pumps, air blowers, and chlorinators. * Cleans bar screens, grit chambers, settling, and sludge beds, and performs various water quality tests. * Prepares operational reports, maintains logs, and supervises inmates, preparing progress reports for their rehabilitation. Position Overview
The Field Service Technician II is a mid-level, customer-facing role responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting network, server, and retail technology environments throughout the Miami and South Florida market. This role requires strong hands-on technical skills, independence in the field, and the ability to meet customer SLAs in a fast-paced environment.
This is an hourly position and includes overtime, paid travel, and on-call responsibilities as required.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and support networking hardware including routers, switches, and wireless access points
Provide hardware break/fix support for servers and network infrastructure, including Cisco UCS and Nexus equipment
Install and support telephony systems (VoIP, PBX, and related circuits)
Deploy and support retail technology systems such as POS, digital signage, and video surveillance
Perform structured cabling, circuit extensions, and basic site surveys and audits
Accurately document work performed and submit all required job deliverables in a timely manner
Maintain company-issued vehicle, tools, and inventory to company standards
Required Qualifications
Working knowledge of network hardware, basic network topologies, and structured cabling standards
Hands-on experience installing and supporting IT and retail technology hardware

Ability to troubleshoot hardware across networking, servers, and endpoint systems

Qualifications
BS, Advanced degree (Master's, PhD) a plus, in engineering. Relevant experience in product development preferred.
CTBS certified (or certified within two years of employment)
Thorough understanding of design control processes and requirements.
Strong knowledge of AATB and FDA regulations as they pertain to human tissue banks.
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and investigative skills.
Demonstrates excellent communication (both oral and written) skills.
Working conditions
