The Senior Casting Technology Manufacturing Engineer provides technical leadership for SX or equiax investment castings across the value stream. You will partner with suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive root cause problem solving, improve producibility, increase productivity, and deliver on business objectives. You will own supplier technical relationships, coach on internal processes/specs/methods, qualify new suppliers, and help develop and industrialize alternate casting technologies.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
+ Provide process and product technical leadership for the Castings commodity, including SX or equiax investment castings.
+ Develop strong working relationships with casting supplier technical teams.
+ Partner with suppliers to identify and implement corrective actions to eliminate the cause and prevent recurrence.
+ Act as a change agent to advance world-class performance and standard work across the supply base.
+ Own supplier technical relationships; mentor suppliers on GE Aerospace processes, specifications, and methods; ensure compliance and capability.
+ Lead cross-functional problem solving, to identify true root cause and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
+ Improve manufacturability through design-for-casting, specification clarity, and process capability improvements.
+ Clearly communicate progress, risks, challenges, and countermeasures to leadership and stakeholders.
+ Review and approve significant/special processes; ensure adherence to standards and qualification requirements.
+ Collaborate with Quality and Design Engineering to ensure new and changed processes meet established metrics; align with other commodities on strategy and objectives
+ Partner with suppliers and internal teams to interpret drawings/specifications, ensuring conformance and clarity.
+ Identify and onboard new suppliers; lead technical qualifications and readiness through Manufacturing and Quality Planning reviews and support supplier Castings Audits.
+ Ability to travel to supplier sites 30%-50%
**Minimum Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Materials/Metallurgy, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field)
+ Minimum of 5 years of materials engineering, castings, mechanical engineering or a related field

+ Additive manufacturing experience.
+ Metal Injection Molding (MIM) experience.
+ Proficiency with Siemens NX or comparable CAD.

**Pay and Benefits:**
+ The salary range for this position is $ 116,000.00 - 155,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with engineering calculations using computer-based technical tools;
Technical writing of reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
Data input and analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures;
Follow instructions and interact with engineers, geologists, office administrative staff, CADD operators (draftsmen), contractors and construction personnel; and
Potential for fieldwork such as soil and groundwater sampling, stormwater inspections, and drilling and contractor oversight.
Local travel or driving to project sites as needed.

Education and Licensure
Currently registered in a Bachelor's or Master's university degree program in a relevant engineering discipline. (required)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Experience with ArcView, CADD, GIS, and/or Microsoft Office. (preferred)

As an employee-owner hired for an internship, you will be given the title of " **Project Intern** " and your duties could consist of:
+ Processing submittals by reviewing, stamping, filing and distributing submittals
+ Sending RFI's to architects and engineers
+ Keeping concrete, rebar, RFI, and plan logs up to date
+ Resolving problems generated from the plans and specifications
+ Establishing control points and lines using field instruments (level, theodolite, total station)
+ Locating embeds in the slab and verifying embed locations per approved shops
+ Assist in locating openings in the structure and assist in establishing vertical control for the structure
+ Locating other miscellaneous items in the field (curbs, inlets, etc.)
+ Documentation- updating and distributing construction drawings, specification, shop drawings and samples
+ Aiding with Quality control inspections utilizing BIM 360 field onsite
+ Verifying pre-pour check list and checking proper formwork framing/shoring installation per approved shops
+ Participating in and aiding with weekly safety meetings as requested, including writing meeting minutes
+ Leading project orientation and maintenance of logs
+ Assisting with maintaining project look ahead schedules
+ Assisting with trade contractor coordination and scheduling
+ Verifying proper construction techniques per plans and specs (raise concerns and follow through with trade until corrected)
+ Maintaining city inspection records and walking with Superintendent during inspections
+ Other miscellaneous duties as defined by the Project Manager or Superintendent
Project Interns can expect a preliminary meeting with their supervisor to discuss the goals, expectations, and desired outcomes of the internship. Employee-owners participating in an internship will be reviewed upon the completion of their internship. This review should be used as a tool to communicate the successes and learning outcomes of the internship. The supervisor will also complete any necessary paperwork that must be provided to the Project Intern's school or university.
Individuals hired as interns will be classified as **Temporary employee-owners** as defined in Policy A-5. Temporary employee-owners are not eligible for vacation pay, holiday pay or any of the other benefits listed in Policy A-5.
Temporary employee-owners are expected to adhere to the same policies and procedures as regular, full-time employee-owners. These policies and procedures can be found on the AustinNet under _People Services, Austin Commercial._
Employee-owners that are performing an internship are expected to work a regularly-scheduled workweek of 40 hours or more (overtime will be paid for any hours in excess of 40 at a rate one and one-half times the employee-owner's regular rate).
