Job Description
This job is based in Albuquerque, NM, and the position requires occasional travel as it will be necessary at various times for the applicant to work in the field. A successful candidate is willing to learn the fundamentals of our business and apply them to estimating, scheduling, cost control analysis, and operational implementation. Working alongside Drill Tech professional engineers, project managers, and field crews, project engineers must demonstrate excellent communication skills, and the ability to organize multiple concurrent tasks are required.
Primary Duties:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Submittal preparation.
Document construction activities.
Compile cost estimates.
Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget through job-cost tracking and project scheduling.
Perform design engineering.

What Your Job Will Be Like
We are seeking an R&D Cybersecurity Engineer with experimental experience in side-channel analysis, cybersecurity research or anti-tamper to work as part of a team with other specialists and scientists in a multi-functional lab environment! SSI needs to add an Engineer Technician VI to support our current list of services provided to the U.S. Navy. These positions, located at the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) in White Sands, New Mexico, will provide engineering, technical, logistics, and administrative support in the planning, maintenance, preparation, execution, launch operations and post-test phases to the W Department of the Navy Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD).
Primary Functions:
Develop, execute and assist with design work in areas of installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment such as complex launch systems to include stationary and mobile launchers.
Develop specialized design and weight test procedures in support of various launch systems and ordnance handling ground support equipment with wide knowledge and a high degree of proficiency.
Design, implement and assist engineers in the modifications of various target designs, missile and rocket control systems, missile and rocket launchers, develop and execute precise hydraulic, static and electronic test equipment.
Generate drawings to include various industry and Navy design factors.
Guides troubleshooting of electronic, electrical, & mechanical systems that do require considerable judgment and final diagnostic.
Identify solutions to technical design problems that arise during design, fabrication, and checkout of electrical systems
Inspect designs for quality control, report findings, and make recommendations
Draw diagrams and write specifications to clarify design details of experimental electronics units
Build or modify prototypes from rough sketches or plans
Redline technical data package (manuals, procedures, drawings...) to reflect changes in design or implementation.
Perform highly skilled technical work in areas of installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment with a wide knowledge and high degree of proficiency.
Operate various industrial lifting equipment, man-lifts, overhead cranes, hoists, and forklifts in a safe and efficient manner. Use troubleshooting aids such as oscilloscopes and digital VOM's to accurately interpret readings.

Education/Experience/Skills:
An Associates level degree or an equivalent military/work experience combination in the field of science, engineering or mathematics. For equivalency purposes:
Ten (10) years of service with an appropriate military Naval Enlisted Code, Military Occupational Specialty, and preferred grade at departure is desired to be no less than E6.
Five (5) years professional experience in electrical/electronics systems.
Ability to climb and work at elevated heights of up to eighty feet.
Ability to complete necessary training required to pass the Navy Ordnance Board as a safety observer.
Proficiency with computers and ability to work with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Proficient with AutoCAD and Solid Works.
Driver's License
Knowledge of WSMR operations
Able to deploy to both CONUS and OCONUS
Minimum of one year of previous experience operating and maintaining industrial lifting equipment, forklifts, man-lifts, cranes, and hoists.
The following qualifications are desired:
Familiarity with the implementation of Navy Fire Control Systems and Navy Vertical Launching Systems.
Skill in launching systems, ordnance operations, and knowledge in installing and maintaining ship and land-based systems used in a test and evaluation environment.
CONTINGENT OFFER
This position is contingent upon contract award and is anticipated to start in May of 2023.
Must possess a valid driver's license. U.S. Citizenship and must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance required for hire, and to be maintained throughout employment. All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
