The Engineering Specialist serves in a supporting role or as a leader providing templates, guidance, and best practices for critical engineering documentation that directly support our customer base. The Engineering Specialist provides critical coordination of engine maintenance and configuration documentation. You will report directly to our Engineering Support Manager and you will report to 111 S 34th St. Phoenix, AZ. This role is eligible for hybrid work mode, except for the first 90 days.
Key Responsibilities
Works with Sr. members to orchestrate documentation efforts for various levels of engine certification and/or qualification projects.
Collaborates with engineering management and peers to analyze and interpret data requirements described in SOW, CDRL, FAA FAR Part 25/33 requirements, and other specifications.
Communicates requirements to key stakeholders; coordinates data preparation, approval, and submittal.
With a focus on multi-discipline integration and on cost/risk/schedule components, creates and maintains database to track program data/documentation, and prepares schedule fidelity and cost status reports.
Generates outline templates and boilerplate for various document types to assist authors as required. Drafts original text as appropriate.
Teams with other peers to suggest the need for and affect template changes (as needed). Participates in review and approval of any related standards and command media updates.
Performs co-authoring/writing of documents for organization, technical congruency, compliance to customer requirements, and internal and external standards.
Participates in efforts with team members and outside vendors to coordinate revisions to existing documents.
Assists with group Best Practice activities and drives process improvements.

Raytheon Technologies is looking to hire a full time Electromagnetic (EM) Motor Design and Project Engineer within the Precision Mechanism and Controls department for their Missiles & Defense business located in Tucson, Arizona. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for developing technical solutions and working with suppliers to develop high performance Brushed DC (BDC), Brushless DC (BLDC) and Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) Experience is sought in electric motor developments for high performance actuation systems and motion control.
Prospective candidates must be able to design electromagnetics for permanent magnet BDC, BLDC, and PMSM motors as well as critically evaluate other motor supplier's designs. The candidate should additionally have a working knowledge of preferred motor design and construction details, but would not be expected to be the sole mechanical designer. Prospective candidates will have technical ownership of all motor designs (including procured designs) and will be the technical expert on all motor related issues including recommending manufacturing and inspection work instructions and supporting failure investigations.
The motor design engineer will be responsible for specification, design, development of fractional horsepower to several HP electric motors including, BLDC, PMSM, brushed motors; design and analysis of PM electric motors for low voltage, high voltage (270V dc), high altitude, and military temperature range environments. Design and analysis will include material selection, electromagnetics, electrical and thermal aspects. The position will work with mechanical engineering staff to perform mechanical design, analysis and drawings. Day-to-day activities are highly collaborative, both internally across disciplines as well as externally with suppliers, partners and customers. Roles and Responsibilities -
In this role, you perform duties contributing to general mission and/or space vehicle systems engineering activities. You could support and/or be responsible for developing requirements, design, integration, development or testing of air & space payloads, spacecraft buses, satellites, and manned or unmanned space systems.
Responsibilities may also include developing requirements, design, integration, development or testing of space payloads, spacecraft buses, satellites, human-rated spacecraft, and satellite servicing vehicles. This includes generating and flowing down customer requirements to hardware and software designers, developing innovative system architectures, implementing advanced algorithms involving sophisticated signal processing and data processing techniques, and integrating and testing finished hardware and software products. Tasks may also include harness interface design, mechanical systems support, Command& Telemetry database development, and space vehicle configuration modeling. You must be knowledgeable in aerospace systems, spacecraft subsystems design, or mission operations.
