Role: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Durham NC
Responsibilities
The position will serve as a contractor supporting existing design engineering colleagues in project execution activities, which will include the following types of activities: 3D CAD modeling in Solidworks, creation of part/assembly drawings in Solidworks, assisting with procurement of prototype parts, assembly and testing of prototype systems, processing/reviewing test data, etc. The position will be responsible for spending time in the lab disassembling and building up assemblies to better learn and understand the mechanics, operation and functionality of these components and assemblies. This engineer will also help with general engineering needs within the mechanical design engineering group, as time permits and needs come up during the term of the contract.
Produce technical drawings, BOM's and product documentation in collaboration with the CAD and PLM team
Perform calculations in support of component design and part selection
Support building and testing of prototypes systems in a laboratory environment
Assist with coordination of engineering and testing activities within and across R&D test labs
Communicate and present information in a clear and concise manner to key stakeholders in a cross functional matrixed organization
Contribute to problem solving and technical support, including design updates of equipment, process development and related documentation.
Requirements
Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree with a concentration in Mechanical / Electromechanical Engineering
Demonstrated experience with SolidWorks 3D Engineering Design Software (Solidworks CSWA certification or equivalent skills is a plus)
Experience with industrial Pneumatic or Hydraulic systems is a plus

The Team
This internship allows students to experience a civil- or structural-focused environment within a corporate setting. Engineering department interns are assigned to one of two options: core structural engineering with analysis focus or civil engineering. Training involves hands-on experience with structural analysis software tools and theoretical-based training with licensed professionals, civil engineers, and structural engineers. Interns work in small groups alongside Senior Engineers to address the Company's needs. In the structural internship, the Engineering Intern performs structural analyses of cell phone towers and prepares formal, written reports detailing tower capacity and listing recommendations for modifications needed to increase capacity. In the civil internship, the Engineering Intern will complete raw-land site development using Civil 3D, stormwater analyses, access road remediation and repair, minor structural calculations and letters related to project permitting.

We are looking for a Backend Engineering Intern to join the Identity - Access Control team. You will be part of a highly collaborative team that builds authorization systems and account linking capabilities in our identity platform. You will drive forward a project in our account services with mentorship from an experienced team of developers.
In this role, you will
Contribute to scalable distributed systems that impact millions of players worldwide and power games like Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys
Take ownership of project delivery from idea to implementation through testing to production
Work with cloud technologies like DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis, and more
Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to determine the most effective technical solutions
Participate in team rituals (standup, planning, retrospectives)
What we're looking for
Proficiency in Java or a similar object-oriented programming language
Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related technical field. Bonus points for college coursework in systems, databases, and web applications
Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
Ability to communicate in a highly-collaborative environment
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with cloud technologies
