Design mechanical systems including the preparation of all engineering calculations including load calculations, equipment selection and layout.
Develop all approved drawings and specifications.
Apply ASHRAE and NFPA standards during design. Work with code authorities as required for approval of plans and specifications, or if code related questions arise. Effectively coordinate with other design and project team members including the architect, lead process engineer, controls engineer, electrical and structural engineers, field personnel, service technicians etc. to ensure mechanical systems are integrated with all trades and designed to latest building codes.
Education and Experience:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or related fields preferred but not required and 5-10 years of related experience. Direct experience working for consulting firm in the design of HVAC systems is highly preferred.
Job Requirements:
AutoCAD, (MEP, Plant), Revit MEP, Sysque, NavisWorks proficiency a plus.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision or in a team atmosphere.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
