Job Purpose
The Systems Engineering and Architecture team brings more than 50 years of experience in application equipment, focusing on advanced development efforts that shape the roadmap for factory-fit technology stacks. With 4 internship opportunities across different teams, students will work closely with senior systems engineers to explore system-level questions, address portfolio gaps, and integrate complex hardware and software solutions.
As a Systems Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience defining requirements, testing software, and supporting system integration projects across multiple engineering disciplines. You will also have the opportunity to lead an entry-level project, applying system engineering principles to real-world equipment development.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities may include:
* Assisting in the creation of requirements for software development
* Performing testing and on-board validation of software packages on equipment
* Leading an entry-level project to implement a new feature onto CNH equipment
* Defining system-level features and decomposing them into subsystem definitions and requirements
* Collaborating across engineering disciplines to coordinate system definition, design, and integration

Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician is a liaison between product engineering and manufacturing departments. The primary functions of this position will be to create the CNC programs used in manufacturing and to train employees on operating procedures for each machine. This Manufacturing Engineering Tech will also assist manufacturing employees in interpreting product engineering's technical drawings to accurately fabricate and assemble the intended part, subassembly, and/or completed trailer.
Essential Functions
· Creates CNC programs using CAM/Nesting software.
· Trains new employees on how to properly operate CNC machines and programs.
· Creates spreadsheets for CNC machinery.
· Assists manufacturing engineering as needed including creating technical drawings for jigs, fixtures, and plant layouts. Trains operators on use of new jigs and equipment as needed.
· Communicates issues related to technical drawings back to the product engineering department.
· Provides technical support to manufacturing employees by interpreting technical drawings, training operators on new parts and assemblies, answering questions related to assembly, or fabrication of trailer parts and assemblies.
· Troubleshoots manufacturing quality problems to determine the root cause of problems.
· Creates technical drawings with CAD software.
· Improves processes and conditions to create an efficient and productive work environment.
· Must understand the Engineering systems, for retrieval, filing and revising of drawings and Bills of Material.
· Must be proficient with computers, CAD, CAM/Nesting, and basic office software.
· Must have a grasp of product line knowledge.
· Must demonstrate the desire & willingness to learn and acquire new technology.

What You'll Do
Evaluate existing machining and manufacturing processes to identify improvement opportunities. Develop and implement new machining processes, tooling, fixtures, and optimized production layouts.
Design efficient process flows, sequences of operations, and detailed work instructions.
Troubleshoot production issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Develop strategies to reduce cost, improve quality, and ensure sustainability in manufacturing.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance guidelines.
Support the introduction of new capital equipment and technologies into production.
Collaborate cross-functionally with machinists, designers, quality engineers, and test teams.
Maintain technical documentation, process reports, and research logs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years in CNC programming and process engineering, preferably in aerospace or other high-precision industries.
Strong G-code skills.
Ability to program and optimize 5-axis mills, Multi-axis lathes, Swiss Machines and Horizontal and Vertical Machining Centers.
Expertise in developing cutting strategies for aluminum, steel and stainless steels.
Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and specifications, and to adapt processes to floor conditions.
Experience in establishing in-process and final inspection points; ability to operate CMMs and precision gauges.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective time management; clear cross-functional communication.

Citizen Swiss, Makino HMC, Haas VMC, Mori Seiki, Okuma machines
SolidWorks for 3D modeling and fixture design
