Overview of the position: At Clark Pacific, the Project Engineer is a position that facilitates the successful design, fabrication, and installation of architectural and structural building systems. Initial activities pertaining to the Design Phase, including, but not limited to: Submittal drawings (floor plans, elevations, material specifications, connection details, Reinforcing details, General panel details, Design approvals, Reinforcement drawings, and Miscellaneous metal drawings. Manufacturing-related activities pertaining to the Production Phase, including, but not limited to: Providing complete shop drawings (panel elements, structural elements, formwork, form change studies, Birdseye, stripping and yard handling studies to facilitate manufacturing, Ensuring purchasing of all required materials and forms, Design lifting hardware, loops, rigging, brackets, and inserts for stripping and handling forces, Provide and maintain a casting schedule, Perform quality checks, and Engage in start-up meetings with manufacturing, and remain engaged throughout each project's life cycle. Total Vehicle Evaluation Engineering Intern What You Will Do: * Assist Total Vehicle Evaluation (TVE) members on vehicle development activities * Learn from TVE Comprehensive Engineers and other HATCI members on overall vehicle development activities * Evaluate the total performance (e.g., powertrain, ride and handling, NVH, brakes, ADAS, human factors, etc.) of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis prototype, pilot, and production vehicles * Perform subjective vehicle evaluations, identify potential customer complaint issues, investigate root causes, and recommend potential countermeasures * Develop and execute joint evaluation test plans for vehicle development activities, such as benchmarking and prototype evaluations * Summarize media reviews and customer feedback concerning Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles * Support additional development activities at HATCI's automotive proving ground in California City, CA * Create and present clear and concise technical reports * Execute additional special projects as assigned What You Will Bring to the Role: * Basic Qualification(s): * Mechanical engineering student with at least 2 years of automotive/dynamics-related coursework * Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering * Preferably, junior or senior standing * Preferred Qualification: * Automotive background or experience desired What Hyundai Can Offer You: * A Global Environment that Fosters Diversity * Competitive Pay * $26 ~ $30/Hour * Flexible Work Hours Other Details: * Candidates applying for positions with Hyundai KIA must be legally authorized to work in the United States. What You Can Expect Understanding coherent optical signal processing Modelling/simulation/analysis of coherent systems including analog components (ADC, DAC, drivers, TIA), opto-electronic components (nested MZM, coherent optical mixers, photodiodes, lasers, optical mux/demux, optical amplifiers), fiber impairments (CD, PMD, non-linearities) and DSP algorithms (calibration of analog and optical nonidealities, equalizers, carrier frequency/phase recovery, timing recovery) Work with lab equipment (spectrum analyzers, VOA, ASE generators etc) What We're Looking For Candidate MUST be currently pursuing a BS/MS/PhD (preferred) degree in CS/EE or related technical field(s) 0-1 years of previous experience A strong signal processing/digital communications background is required. Strong programming skills in Python/Matlab/C/C++, in a Unix type environment, with good problem solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Additional background in coherent optical systems, optical components and silicon photonic integration knowledge is highly desired. Experience with debugging complex analog issues to improve system performance is highly desired. Knowledge of digital design and DSP blocks will be a huge plus. Expected Base Pay Range (USD) 29 - 57, $ per hour. The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions.
