This is a part-time, remote position. It is expected that position duties will be performed remotely. Access to our office location and event attendance is optional. The time commitment is 10-25 hours per week.
POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a Lead Software EngineeringInstructor to lead the teaching of the SEO Tech Developer Summer Residency. This role will interface directly with our Program Manager and Teaching Assistants to ensure students (rising college Juniors) are prepared to launch successful SWE and SWE-adjacent careers. The Software EngineeringInstructor will work closely with the program's Lead Teaching Assistant to guide students through the curriculum through project-based assignments with well-defined guidelines and deliverables. The role demands a strong interest in career empowerment and mentorship for our students.
We are looking for an individual who will bring enthusiasm for learning and the ability to motivate and cultivate individuals across various technical backgrounds to grow their software engineering skills. Additionally, we aim to work with someone who recognizes AI's versatility in today's shifting tech landscape and can guide our students to use generative AI tools carefully and effectively.
On a day-to-day basis, the Software EngineeringInstructor can expect to:
Deliver daily lectures from 11AM-12:30PM ET, creating an interactive student experience through mini quizzes, live coding demos, etc.
Review and refine lesson materials (lecture slides, assignments), curriculum scheduling, and project expectations to best meet the needs of the cohort
Consistently check in with Teaching Assistants to assess student progress
Work with teaching and program staff to organize student demo-day presentations including final project Demo Days from July 22nd to 24th
Continuously assess course impact and share timely feedback with program staff regarding curriculum improvement and overall program effectiveness
QUALIFICATIONS
Teaching experience (e.g., facilitating meetings, delivering training, mentorship)
Proficiency in our tech stack (see below)
A track record of developing and maintaining strong working relationships with and among a diverse group of distributed stakeholders
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively to implement and deliver program curriculum
Deep understanding and commitment to carrying out SEO's mission and values
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least four years of experience as a software developer or similar technical role (can be combined with relevant teaching experience)
Experience leading or working collaboratively with an instructional team
Instructional design experience on a project-based curriculum
Demonstrable project management experience
Strong understanding of AI best practices for software developers
Strong interest in the social implications of technology
TECH STACK
Required:
Strong Python skills
Comfort working with various APIs and libraries
Experience with version control (Git/GitHub)
Basic familiarity of web technologies (JS/HTML/CSS)
Preferred:

TIME COMMITMENT
8 weeks total (June-July 2026)
10 hours per week of onboarding and planning during the first two weeks
25 hours per week of preparation time, instruction, and office hours during the 6 week synchronous program phase

About the Position
An Associate Faculty primarily instructs undergraduate and/or graduate courses in specific disciplines in accordance with University of Phoenix learning objectives and course outlines, engaging with students to drive academic rigor and student success. The Department of Medical Education in the Boonshoft School of Medicine (BSOM) at Wright State University is seeking applicants for an Instructor/Statistician. The successful candidate will provide methodological and statistical instruction in BSOM classes (e.g., Scholarship in Medicine, Advanced Research Methods) and direct the online Biostatistics module. The incumbent will assist and mentor medical students, residents, and faculty with research and survey design, grant writing, data management, data analysis, the production of graphs and charts, and report writing and/or manuscript preparation. The Instructor/Statistician also will provide support for WSU undergraduates in the expanding Medical Scholars Program with their research experiences and training.
Minimum Qualifications
* Master's degree or higher in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or a related field with proficiency in at least one statistical software package (R, SAS, SPSS, Stata, etc.).
* One year of relevant experience; experience as a graduate assistant may be counted towards this requirement.
* Must be able to analyze and solve complex problems with little oversight.
* Must be able to express results clearly in both written and oral presentations.
* Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and organization/project management skills.

* Train medical students, residents, and faculty in data quality control and use and implementation of statistical techniques using statistical software.
* Collaboratively participate in the instruction of BSOM students in the following modules/courses: Scholarship in Medicine, Advanced Research Methods. Direct the required Biostatistics module. Co-facilitate the Summer Medical Student Research Experience making use of existing datasets. Assist in the development of other research-related instructional activities as needed.
* Provide statistical support to residents and fellows in BSOM/Premier Health graduate medical education programs to meet required scholarship requirements.
40% Statistical Support
* Work with BSOM medical students, residents, and faculty to assist them in successfully completing research studies and serve as a project-specific consultant.
* Participate as a team member in grant writing, study design, data analysis, and accurate interpretation and presentation of the research results. Communicate clearly to interpret and explain complex information. Write analysis and results sections for presentation or publication, in conjunction with the study investigators, as requested.
* Perform routine and advanced statistical analyses; develop complex mathematical models and custom statistical programs; research design, data management, statistical analyses, and interpretation of the results: answer other statistical and data analysis questions.
* Research novel statistical methods and tools and apply them to data analyses. Manage project-specific databases.
* Provide support to WSU undergraduate students in the expanding Medical Scholars program as they gain research experience.
* Assist other BSOM biostatisticians as requested and where possible.
* Develop and maintain documentation of process for quality assurance and reporting methodology
