**ROLE:**
Assist with designing and/or modification of customer provided CAD data utilizing foundry casting principles to create 3D models from which mold and/or core tooling will be built.
**RESPONSIBILITES/DUTIES:**
* Work directly with and assist the foundry tooling engineers on the design, configuration and build layout of mold and core box tooling.
* Layout multiple cavity tooling as directed by tooling engineering.
* Design cores including print area to satisfy casting requirements.

**OVERVIEW**
The Supplier Quality Engineer Intern will be acting as a liaison between operations, suppliers, and the Supplier Quality Department, to ensure that overall specifications, quality/regulatory requirements, and expectations are met for purchased products.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
* Responsible to ensure part qualification and evaluation activities (both prototype and sustaining manufacturing) resulting in acceptable and consistent supply. Includes external activities (establishing part quality requirements) and internal activities (sampling plans, inspection processes, etc.)
* Ability to execute supplier audit activities related to both validation and on-going management of quality execution capabilities
* Monitoring supplier quality performance based on analysis of Plexus and supplier performance data
* Lead problem part resolution through all phases of operations
* Responsible for leading supplier corrective action and continuous improvement activities
* Support containment, segregation, NCM review, and trend analysis processes activities relative to supplied parts
* Support overall site Quality Management System through metrics, auditing etc.
* Facilitate reporting and notifying suppliers of cost-recovery requirements resulting from the need to contain, segregate or handle non-conforming parts
* Support alternative supplier selection
* Mentor and support RI activities and process effectiveness
* Participates in customer-facing supplier quality activities
* Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
* Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field for entire duration of internship.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
* Junior level status
* GPA: 3.0 or higher is preferred
* Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
* Strong communication skills

The function of the Intern is to develop the skills/capabilities necessary to perform as a long-term, fulltime employee within the engineering organization at Marinette Marine or within the Marine Group. In fulfilling this function the individual will assist the various other Engineers and Lead Engineers with special assignments, becoming familiar with Marinette Marine engineering standards and enabling them to fulfill their internship for their school and/or resume, where this may be a requirement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) development and responding to the customer's comments. This may include technical calculation (structure, stability, inclining experiments, tank tables, etc.) or written CDRLs such as delivery plans or test procedures.
Assist in the completion of craft testing, including start-up, dockside and sea trials as necessary.
AutoCAD drawing support.
Drawing development, checking or data processing.
Other duties as determined by management.
