Salary Information Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. **A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and the Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations** Nature of Work The fundamental reason this classification exists is to perform technical engineering work, including inspecting new developments and public works projects. The work responsibilities include reviewing site plans, conducting on-site inspections, communicating with consultants and design engineers, assisting citizens with city-related concerns, and coordinating with utility companies and State agencies. The employee will report directly to a higher-level Engineering Technician, Civil Engineer, or Professional Engineer. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or a GED and three (3) years of technical engineering experience in the area of traffic, public works, planning, and/or transportation. NOTE: Qualifying education, training, and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
